And you a relative of the Senna's? no?.. Seems like it.
Get a grip, you obviously hate the guy, I cannot debate with someone that is so one sided.
Yes he has done some stupid things, but he sure has hell made up from them, and other drivers have done the same, it is F1.
He has raced so well in his comeback, I would like to see how Raikkonen does, and how people would want him to retire again "if there is anyone as there was volume for wanting MSC to retire again.
He probably will do well because he is still young, but people won't notice it because he is in a Renault, as was the same with Michael these two years, it is the same woolly-minded idiocy that does not take into account the seat a driver is sitting in.
Roll on 2012, hopefully this will sew your mouth together as if 2011 hasn't been enough to do so.
    Gosh.

Well he pushed the rules to the limit and often went quite a bit passed them and brought the sport into disreputeon on several occasions. His domination at Ferrari made the sport very boring for several years. He is also the reason why the rules are so strict in F1 because he kept abusing them and the on track etiquette. He also made it so that his team mate was never allowed to challenge him which also had detrimental effects to F1.

Unlike you I respect YOUR hero, as well as many of the drivers on the grid today, not ever of my time on here have I ever witnessed as much hate for one driver.

Barrichello knew what he was signing up for in his contract, Schumacher was improving the team at the time so he fully deserved the back-up from the team. Rubens took the money and raced happily, why are you crying for him?
He pushed his racing etiquette to the limit, as well as his speed and mental and physical fitness and continuity in the team - unlike the drivers who have come and gone.
That is what made him the most successful driver ever whether you like it or not.

If Schumacher performs like he did in 2011 he should stay and if its like 2010 then he'll need to go. Its always on a year by year basis at his age. Thats as deep as i will go seeing as this appears to be little more than a bashing thread.

Senna fanboy. 1994,1995,2003 Schumacher won the title when he didnt have the best car. 2003 probably had the 3rd best car. While all of Senna's titles he had the fastest car.

95 it was the best car, as Johnny Herbert proved when Schumacher was out, 94 Benetton, and schumacher should've been banned. As for Senna, he did one thing, one time in revenge for what had happened the year before, he didn't do it almost everytime he had the chance, and that's the big difference. And the only reason I like Senna is because he stuck it to Prost who was my favourite before he cheated in 89.

He might stay until 2013 when Aldo Costa and Geoff Willis would've had more influence on the car. But I think, ultimately, it will come down to how well he does this year.

Yes, it does doesn't it. - I promise you that was not my intent, Bando; but unfortunately, I seem to have mislaid the lid. Are you hiding it?

I thought the implications of Schumacher's last year under his current contract might make for an interesting topic of debate, while we wait for the action to begin. A bit like testing itself eh? But seriously, it's good that people are staying cool about it…

Eternal, no offence, but can you give it a rest? Schumacher is still quick, but I like many others believe he is just not cut out for it anymore. He has improved since 2010, but the problem he had in 2011 was that he'd have 1 or 2 good races, and then ruin it by piling into someone, knocking his front wing off, or doing something controversial.

Out of his 7 titles, theres probably only 3 that he truly deserves, through great driving, no controversy, and no vastly dominant car. I think the best seasons, or the best to watch, were 2005 and 2006, cause Raikonnen and Alonso were giving him trouble.

You say Senna had the fastest car for his 3 title but it was still a massive challenge for him in all 3. The head of the governing body at the time hated Senna.

Schumacher has been brilliant in his career, but he needs to stop racing, it's ruining the success that his first season brought him. Rosberg has beaten him 2 seasons in a row now. Okay, Schumacher's second season was better, and closer with Rosberg, but still being beaten by a much younger driver when his reputation suggests he should be beating him, isnt good enough at this stage.

Besides Schumacher has had help on many occasions in 2011 to beat Rosberg, like India, and when Mercedes bring in Rosberg much earlier than they needed to

    Yes I have the lid.

It is an interesting aspect for 2012. We havnt learnt much from his return yet as Mercedes have been a league of thier own below the big 3 and ahead of the rest. If he has a good season can he pull out another in 2013? or if not what big names will get his seat

That's the key point for me. I think Mifune once explained this with a convincing argument. Because of Mercedes' unique position in terms of performance compared with all the other teams, it's very difficult to identify what Schumacher has achieved and hence what effect his involvement will have in 2012 or what effect his input over three years will have once he's gone. Ross Brawn does know his onions (to coin a phrase), though, and we know from the long years of Ferrari dominance that his relationship with Schumacher is very special, possibly unique in F1. My contribution is to suppose that, although Schumacher has failed to fulfil any expectations on the track, his contribution (through providing feedback) to car development and, of greater fundamental importance for the 'Brawn' team, to how the team functions as a team may well be the kind of onions Brawn was shopping for.

I see what you are saying Genji, but when he arrived they were WCC, in 2010 they scored 214 points, Schumacher 72 of them, in 2011 they scored 165 with schumacher scoring 76, 4 more than the previous year. It seems to me that all Mercedes have done since Schumacher and Rosberg have been there is get steadily worse, especially Rosberg who's had to sit quietly saying nothing for 2 seasons while the car was built around their slowest driver. Maybe Brawn went out for onions and bought some carrots by mistake

    This is a good point.
I agree that one of Brawn's biggest 'onions' is likely to have been car development, although I feel that this has contributed further to undermining Rosberg, who still gives something of the impression of a bystander in this regard. (One wonders if Rosburger has a beef about it. I certainly get the impression he's been stewed for some time).

But there is another onion which seems to go under the radar: money. - Schumacher brings rather a lot of it. In this sense, he very much fits with the definition of a 'pay driver'.

Perhaps Brawn decided carrots might be better for someone doing the donkey-work?

True but, car-wise, the championship season was down to a very specific advantage they had over almost every other team along with poor cars from Ferrari and McLaren and a Red Bull that wasn't quite there yet. Still, I take the point that Brawn's arrival at Honda did lift them up but whatever combination of personality, experience and skills they have had since 2010 has helped them maintain fourth place. One could rightly argue that that may not be the case if Renault hadn't declined (both in points scored and performance) in 2011, thus masking Mercedes' decline. I would say, though, that 2011 was very tight for points with Red Bull's dominance, the mights of Ferrari and McLaren scrapping for what was left over, and fewer mistakes and failures from all of them. Well, most of them...

If, at the end of 2012, Mercedes maintains fourth place by a decent margin over fifth, then I'd argue that Schumacher had a hand in that. Whether you take that as a good thing for Mercedes or not is up to you but I'd measure them against Honda and a currently virtually impenetrable top three teams.

Brawn only had the money for 2009 so it was all or nothing.

The Mercedes money came in late and the inclusion of MS came in very late so 2010 was never going to be a great year

and yet it was farbetter than this year. TBH I'm not convinced with Rosberg and I want to see him against someone decent , Schumacher has bought nothing but controversy back with him and agree that he's undermined Rosberg, who really only has himself to blame, although I think he spoke out late last year and may have come to an agreement with Brawn over who is to be treated as no.1

    None taken,
Schumacher has been inconsistent this season, but has been a much faster driver than 2011, moving on Senna did have the fastest car when winning all his championships, Michael made his car the fastest through development, but all of a sudden it becomes a crime to be a dominant driver and childish conspiracy theories start to mount up. Wasn't Rosberg's tyres being shredded through too much KERS use in the first stint, here Michael was catching Rosberg a second a lap due to his more effective tyre conservation. Where did you get your information from.

I agree with Genji here, although he does not look fast on track due to the car he is seated in, his development in Mercedes as we speak will be building them up into a stronger team for the future if not 2012. His driving in reality has not been as bad as most people make out, but how they want to see it.
The Brawn relationship and Schumacher story has another chapter in F1, whether through another contract or through behind the scenes intensive development.
