Just because there are players in our squad that we don't rate doesn't mean they will be first out of the door. We don't want Hulse ourselves so why would anyone else want him instead of the likes of Mackie and Smith? There will still be business done in the loan market to reduce squad numbers and I also reckon there will be many more mutually agreed contract terminations soon to allow the likes of Big Dan, Cooky, Hulse etc to leave and be able to join up with what ever club they like as free agents. Sparky might not wait until the summer to have a clear out.
I personally would prefer to hang onto Mackie as he is someone that MH might be able to help make the jump up. Tommy Smith - good championship player but I cannot see him being in the squad long term. Opinions are like ar5eholes, everybodys got one so I find myself disagreeing with other comments.
Cannot believe how things change so quickly. It doesn’t seem that long ago we were all signing ‘Mackie’s’ name at Reading? However things move on and I really don’t see much of a future for Mackie at QPR. He was great for us in the Championship where the odd mistakes can go unpunished but in the Prem it’s a different story. He is not good enough at this level but would do a fab job for Cardiff. He has proved in the recent games that he can run all day long but lacks the quality of the level. I won’t knock him because of what he has done but as I said it would be a good move for both clubs if it happens.
Me neither, just wondering. Also wondering how much a week he is taking off QPR. I think he was on about £14/15k a week with us and earned it for 2 1/2 years - pity about the last 6 months.
I think there was Mackie Eurphoria cos he had an absolute golden patch in his first ten games. If you look at his performances after that they have not been overally impressive. This season we have still won more points without him starting. For some reason i keep thinking of stuart wardley, scored a few goals but was utter ****e.
Mackie is good enough to be a squad player and isn't half as bad as some on here make out. We shouldn't be looking to loan out any player who is good enough for the 25.
because Cardiff has Malaysian owners too? But think there's bad news for Cardiff...: David McIntyre @davidmcintyre76 during quick chat with hughes after presser i asked about interest in smith and mackie. says cardiff/watford have no chance of getting them
After his goal vs Wigan, Sparky isn't letting Smith go that's for sure. And Mackie's being started, so why let him go?
Mackie is a good Championship player and would do well for Cardiff. And it's clear he won't be our first team when we get the Acon players back. But I think he'll make the 25. Edit - Sorry for the repeat awjm...
Very little end product with Mackie. Not good enough at this level. Still admire him for the huge effort he puts in.
That only applies if they become a free agent during a transfer window. Anyone whose contract is ripped up now can't joing a club until next season. Don't think any player is going to volunteer to be unemployed for 6 months when they can sit back and take the cash.
