I dare any Arsenal fan to defend Wenger now.

  1. Not gonna argue about the FA Cup but I'm not entirely at my comfortable best with any competition this year. We are not the most prepared side out there in any contest, it saddens me to say.

Grizzly, it is impossible to survey ALL Arsenal fans, any survey can only ever be a proportion of as opposed to the entire group.

    Magic Man, apologies <ok>

  4. There was a discussion on this in the previous week.

Personally he isn't my idea of an Arsenal manager. Too controversial for my liking, too many spats with all and sundry. As far as I can see, he's really not all that special. I would rather we have a new start with any one of the following - Pep Guardiola, Guus Hiddinck or Martin O'Neill.

I think the point is that it wasn't even a majority of the small proportion Jamrag uses to try and back up his repeated lie that most Arseanl fans want AW out.

would you prefer winning football and a winning mentality over the pretty stuff you lot play?

From an impartial point of view I can understand why you are all split on the matter, as its plain for everyone to see Wenger IS one of the great managers of the game.. but he has become more and more stubborn which has left you in a mess really..

    Thanks for the apology.

You are correct that it would be nigh on impossible to to survey all fans. But 382 is a very very small number to get an accurate reflection, even if most of these are members.

You could say that more people want Wenger out than don't from the AST Poll, since more answered "yes" than "no" if you exclude the 3rd option given.

You could equally say that less than 50% of people want Wenger out.

So you know what? You're BOTH right. Though Jayram is wrong, because it's not a clear majority.

    Lies, damn lies, and...Statistics.

  10. Why can't we have both?

    We used to ;)

Some here will say ' You cannot be serious ' but I do agree with you ;)

shocked you'd say Martin O'Neil, as he is useless at spending money as well.. the other two would be good agreed..

Is it an absolute fact the Wenger does actually have the money to spend and is not spending it?? Ive often wondered whether he is just towing the line and making out that he is choosing not to spend when in fact his hands are tied..

Aye !! I actually thought another way of reading this is more than 50% have not stated they want him to go. Stats can distort any argument <laugh>

  15. Well friend, I like MON's sense of enthusiasm on the touchline. I suppose I remember him from his days with Nottingham Forest but more his time with Celtic, a club he nurtured to many trophies and which he left to look after his then-ailing wife. Speaks volumes for me.

We are not really told how much money we have but I think the balance sheet indicates a very healthy balance, some of which could be used to invest in the team, I dare say

Yes you have an excellent point here and another reason why I would rather not have the man. However if he gets us back winning again, how I would feel would be another matter I suppose. Winning changes everything I believe. Not perhaps a longer term solution shall we say ;)

Dont get me wrong I like MON, though most Villa fans will say he was a bit useless.. he spending policy was woeful... Though that said Wenger did well at picking youngsters and turning them into great players, whenever he actually paid money for someone they were often useless.... I know a few Villa fans and they are as indifferent about MON as you all are over Wenger..

I think any club which had Mourinho as their manager would probably end up loving him especially when winning, the guy has the knack of creating a seige mentality.

As to your clubs finances who really knows it just doesnt make any sense to me.. to make the club go backwards through a stubbornness to invest in players.. that said fergie is doing exactally the same to us, we have a midfield in desperate need of money spending on it yet he wont.

Too funny - you talk of ignorance after posting a categorical and undeniable lie like this...

You have absolutely zero humility as even when proven to be wrong, you still can't accept it.

  18. Ahh, now I know whose scarf you wear :D

I thought MON had a disagreement with the owner of Villa who wouldn't allow him to spend. Anyway I think he has a good record of bettering the sides he found. Villa may be an exception, I can't really say.

I actually thought the special one enjoyed a loyalty from his players at Chelsea and that the feeling was mutual. Since that club's success came with the placing of pen to chequebook, I didn't care for much that went on at Chelsea. It's Murinho's propensity to be embroiled in fracas that has me wondering if he is the right man for us. Well, if we win........

As far as our finances are concerned I think our owner's other distractions may have something to do with it.

    Stay well friend.

Indeed. The survey does not show that MOST fans want him out.

So without any proof, I do not believe that most want him out at all. Although I do think the numbers are rising and should we not win anything and drop out of the top 4 then I have no doubt that these numbers will rise even higher.

You can wriggle and squirm all you like. The fact is that you stated
which is an out and out lie, but not an unexpected one considering the source.
