not to get many International Caps.

Basically who do you think should have been given more international caps. It doesn't have to be a toon player...or ex toon player.

A player who should have been a star of their international side or one who atleast shoud have been given more of a chance.

I'll get the ball rolling with Brian Clough, Kevin Nolan, Steve Harper, Matt Le Tissier, Glenn Hoddle, Andy Cole (although with Shearer and Sheringham upfront I can sort of see why).

    Your turn!

If it wasn't for injuries, Woodgate.
Also Dean Richards should probably have got a few.
And, considering Heskey got 62 caps, any other English striker.

On Nolan: of the current PL players he has the most premier league apps for an Englishman without a cap and he is 10th on the all time list. He is also the only English midfielder to score 50 goals without a cap. You'd think the goals alone this year would give him a shout.

hmm tough question..an easier one would be who has far too many caps for their ability.

    glen johnson and gareth barry<ok>

I have to agree with Jordan for once, he's got it spot on.

How Gareth Barry has so many caps I will never know, he's rubbish

I'm pretty sure Michael Ricketts and Gavin McCann have had caps for England, which is an absolute joke!

The fact that some ****ty third choice goalie (can't remember his name) was chosen over Harper is just a joke. Nolan isn't the best midfielder in the world, but he should definitely have at least one cap so we can see how he performs on the international stage. Mind you, the competition for midfield spots is heavy.

David Nugent - best striker for England ever, a goal a game ratio.

Rob Lee, Robbie fowler, Ian Wright, Steve Harper, Joey Barton (this year for sure), Kevin Nolan, Kevin Davies, Le Tiss is the big one for me, gotta be one of the biggest injustices ever that a player with such amazing technique and grace on and off the ball was over looked by more than one england manager. What also becomes clear is that england national team scouts hate the north east with a passion (or can't hack the weather)

As for who had too many, Carlton Palmer, Andy Sinton, Gareth Barry, Peter Crouch, Emile Heskey.... gonna stop now as this could go on all fookin night

Yeah Le Tissier and Clough are the big ones for me. I understand Clough had loads of injuries but still had a great goalscoring record. You could also put in Steve Bruce...but we'll not...and say he was ****e!

Competition is heavy, but Barry consistently starts and the two most in form Englishmen never get a game (Parker and Barton), nor does the leagues top English scorer (Nolan - tied with Carroll and Bent on 11).

Barry and G.Johnson are nowhere near international standard. the sooner Richards claims RB the better. England dont really have a standout holding midfielder though (Barton/Huddlestone/Rodwell would be a better choice though IMO)
