We wont see much more of him when Traore is back, Traore on the left and SWP will finally be put on the right and Mackie will be a sub. He simply cannot play SWP on the left and Mackie on the right ahead of Traore.
God I hope you're right. Hopefully as a former marksman he'll know the need of quality delivery from the flanks and will bring Traore in.
Can't believe Fulham are going to be in the relegation struggle - far too good I'm afraid. Would have prefeered WBA to lose as they could get dragged in though I doubt it. We needed 3 points today to get away from it a bit, but have to be happy with the 1
We just need to keep a gap between us and Bolton. Would be nice for the gap with West Brom to close, but let's not worry too much about that. Let's just do better than the team one place below each game and we'll be OK. At the moment it remains tighter than a nun's nasty, but I'm pretty confident that we're going to be OK. Looking at the goal difference at the moment, and we're minus 15. If you think we were soundly stuffed 0-4 in the first game against Bolton and 6-0 away at Fulham, then we're effectively (only*) minus 5 in the other 21 games. That tells me that we're not as easy to beat as we think. Yes, we play it dangerously and have to defend like lions for vast portions of matches - which Spunky simply has to do something about - but I still maintain the criticism of our defence has been somewhat unwarranted. That it has been strengthened can only be a good thing, but we have to start playing further up the field, learn to keep the ball and stretch the opposition more. Hopefully this will become more the case now we have Zamora and Cisse? All this counter-attacking stuff is well and good, but we can't rely on the pace of Cisse to alleviate the pressure on the defence. With Zamora holding the ball up and creating chances for the team, as well as a more offensively-minded midfield - and I agree that we should move Traore up there - we should be putting the pressure on the opposition. I would also like to see Spunky experiment with Taarabt playing just behind Cisse and Zamora, perhaps at the expense of SWP (who frankly isn't mutting the custard). Having said all that, I think the Wolves game - which is massive, by the way - will be a scrappy, untidy and physical affair. I don't expect us to win pretty. [*word used advisedly]
Me neither, but the fact is they are struggling. Without Zamora goals will only be tougher for them to get. There's always a surprise struggler, who's to say that can't be Fulham this year.
