yeh, but looking at the whole game and Villa shots to ours, their possession, a hand ball penallty claim, our thin team, gotta be happy with the point. Good starts from the new boys!

Who said fair result??? The score was level but the game was VERY one sided. A good point to get when we were often over ran. Remember we did the same to Newcastle at our place and we were gutted at only getting a point.

Most of us would have taken that before the start (and some of us predicted it!!), but we were very badly out played in the 2nd half by the sound of it! Players will need time to gel guys....lots of new faces in tonight!

Everyone on here would've taken a point with that team. Positives - Cisse and Onuoha, Negatives - Taiwo and Macheda. Hopefully Taiwo is just rusty as he hasn't had much game time this season...

At least its a point - but with the extra 2 and brom losing, it would have made a world of difference for Saturday.
It is games like these we need to keep the points in the bag, bent at half time for gawds sake WHY??????

thank god that's over and we've escaped with a point! bit disappointing not to come away with all 3 points from a 2-0 lead but when you take a hammering like that you have to count your blessings. and a any point on the road is a good point. well done the lads!

Ohuona was excellent, as was Cisse but I had hoped for more from Taiwo. Looked a bit flat footed and muddled at times. Why is Barton still taking corners? Lost our shape for long periods, lucky to get the draw IMO.

WBA equalise against Fulham, if Arsenal sneak a winner, it will be a perfect set of results for us.

Thought the defence looked good enough. Cisse looked electric until he got tired. The midfield looked awful and hardly got a touch. The sooner Diakte, Triaore and Taarabt are back the better.

Given that Sparky has had barely any time on the training pitch with some of these guys ( and none with Taarabt and Traore) more than happy with that point. Villa will be kicking themselves and the ref, but Mackie should have scored for us. Taiwo looked off the pace, but he hasn't been a regular for Milan and I'm sure he'll get there when he's used to the Prem. onouha very solid and brave putting his face in front of that N'Zogbia shot.
    Bring on them Wolves.

Have to again question our midfield presence and influence. Cisse looked good (but not up to EPL fitness), same for Taiwo.
Can see promise for new players though as they work more together. Zamora will add to presence (and will be fitter).
Non-standard players really beginning to stand out now.. Derry, Mackie (that hurts!!), Macheda (well short!!), Hulse (of course). Thought Barton looked poor, covered a lot of ground but terrible distribution was the norm for him.
Would have been happy with a point and that's what we got. So on to Saturday.. and hopefully a better team to follow as we gel and add better players.
