An international player scored ten goals in his native country before being signed by a top Premiership side, but only netted once after his arrival. He was then sold on to another European side where he failed to score at all (although he did get one for his country during his spell at this club) before being purchased by a different Premiership side where he only managed to find the net once. He was then off-loaded to his third English team, where he failed to score at all. Who is he?
ok, banksys question has had me stumped for ages. i keep thinking of strikers that have been very poor in england like forlan but then it hit me that the reason why no one has got this question right as were all thinking of strikers and thats why its been hard as its obviously not a striker. i dont think it would be a defender/midfielder as the question would then be impossible. my guess its a keeper. so then by order of elimination looking at keepers from top prem sides (as the question suggests), and who have scored goals for club and country, the 1st and obvious guess was peter schmeichel. the thing that puzzled me was scoring 10 goals in his country before moving to england. so i looked up the stats for schmeichel and his wiki page says: he scored 8 goals in total for 2 different club in denmark. question says 10 goals in native country so i think this may be wrong answer. but its the closest i can find! he then moved to man utd. question says moved to a top prem side. man utd are a top prem side. wiki says he didnt score for man utd but i swear he did. he then moved to sporting lisbon. question says he moved to another european side and lisbon is european. question says failed to score for them which wiki also states. question states scored for country and wiki states he scored for his country. he the moved to villa and scored 1 goal. question says moved back to england and scored 1 goal. wiki matches this. he then moved to man city and didnt score. question says moved to a 3rd english club and failed to score. wiki matches this. my guess is schmeichel but i think im wrong as he didnt score 10 goals according to wiki before joining 1st prem side and didnt score for man utd according to wiki. this is the closest i could find to the stats in the question. if it ain him then i give up on that question unless more clues are available!
