"Only a horrible Mackem or a complete moron would rank Sunderland's shack higher than St James' Park."

I wonder what we did to upset this Exeter fan?

Come to think of it the SOL is a fantastic stadium, though I just tend to take that for granted nowadays. As it says, are parts of the SDA really 1/4 of a mile from the pitch?

not sure if you are being serious, but a 1/4 of a mile is 440 yards, a football pitch is 100-130 yards, so no it probably just feels like being 440 yards away.

The Stadium of Light is quite a good stadium so I'm not surprised it's so high. I like the way it has the big ring of stalls and toilets before you get onto the pitch.

It seems to actually be based quite deep into the ground though, so it doesn't look so high or impressive from the outside. First time I went in I was wondering how the hell it was so short before I stepped in at ground level and realised there were 60 foot of steps to go down.

that is 440 yards up though, the Eiffel tower is only 350 yards high to the very top.

The tower stands 324 metres (1,063 ft) tall, about the same height as an 81-storey building.

I am pretty sure, even though i havnt seen their ground for about 10 years, the stands are not 81 stories high.

PS: i just cant see the view being that far away, 440 yards is the average par 4 in golf.

Go on say something complimentary :p

blackcatsteve- given the perspective, the website seems a bit daft. But unlike the Eiffel Tower, I think they have taken in elevation as well as the plane distance into account. Still seems daft though.
