Bad move for him!? Is he got it in him to have the pressure of going up a league and also have the pressure to score vital goals to give Bolton that boost for premiership survival?!? He's still young...

I rate him highly and think he be a great strike he's got pace strength and good with both feet and head!! Just think it might be short lived in the premiership with Bolton

I will disagree. Bolton is a good move. Marvin will be under pressure but if he can score some goals to stop the team being relegated he will have done well. If he scores goals and the team is relegated it will not be his fault. If he stops scoring goals he has a problem. One thing is he is not there to keep the substitutes warm.

Sorry Ak but do you mean substitutes bench warm.? Just keeping the subs warm sound like Marvin could be doing a whole lot of hugging!!! <laugh>

But I do agree, going into a team like Bolton should mean regular starts.

He's young enough to have been into the Teletubbies.

But how much is the package worth to Watford?

In previous weeks there has been much spoken about not underselling our stars and they held out right until the last 24/48 hrs so i would like to think that we got good money up front (North of 3.75m) + a bonus if they stay up + more after 50 or 100 games + 25% or more sell-on clause etc etc.

Anyone with inside knowledge please speak up :)

He was a big fish in a little pond with us, how will his ego cope with being a relatively smaller fish in a relatively larger pond?

I assume as they both came through the ranks at Watford, Robbo will be detailed to smooth the transition for Marv by Coyle. (That must be the first time smooth has been used in relation to Robbo  )

I am sorry to see him go, but i will reveal now that i am slightly glad too. It has been said before that he is greedy and i have to agree. He seems to think he can go past everyone and fails to see the final pass which would release a team mate. He seems to have a dislike for shooting from outside the box suddenly and he has had a couple of howlers from inside the 6yrd box. I hope he succeeds at Bolton, but it could be interesting though.

I understand that we wanted you to take Robbo back as part of the deal. But we couldn't afford your asking price <laugh>

I think it's a bad move for him..not so much because it's Bolton, though i think he could have done better, but i do think he's shot his bolt too soon. Another few months, regardless of where we end up, will see us get more money for him, but more importantly for him, would get him a club that is certain to have at least a season in the premiership.

Having said that, Marvin is good, but he hasn't been great in the last few months. He's been greedy on the ball, and he's been lazy.

I think for us, this is a good deal, it could have been better, for Marv, he could have done much better with a bit more patience.

Good luck to him though, i hope he does what he's gone there to do :)

I'm glad we don't seem to have got rid of him on the cheap (although I would have preferred more) and I wish the lad well.

What worries me is that for all the posturing from the club about not having to sell we most certainly would have also sold Mariappa at the last minute had he agreed to go to Wigan or if Newcastle had upped their offer. That would have left us without our first choice striker and first choice centre back and no replacements coming in for them. It seems Mirfin wouldn't have gone back to Scunthorpe if Mapps had gone and so the plan of action the club were intending to take in that scenario is pretty clear.

Baz keeps making noises about the club being financially stable, and we keep hearing about not needing to sell but I still see no indication that we are not going to see all of our saleable on-pitch assets flogged at the earliest opportunity. Where is all this money going? Reinvested into the Academy, the playing staff, the ground? Still sceptical...........

Have to agree that Im not sure this is the right move for Sordell. Yes he has the potential to be a Premier League player, but not yet. He still has many facets of his game he needs to work, such as yes he is a good dribbler but he often keeps the ball for too long, needing a bit more experience at a lower level then the Premier League in my opinion to learn when the right time is to either shoot, keep the ball, or pass to a player in space. Unlike Graham, you feel that Sordell can drift in and out of games, and that's why many of us feel he will struggle to do as well. Also, will he really play in front of Davies, Tuncay, Klasnic and N'Gog??? I wouldn't have thought so considering his lack of Premier League experience.

If this deal was done 2 weeks ago, I would have thought it was great business for the club. £4m for a good player but who's an unknown quality at Premier League level is decent business, but we are hamstrung by the fact we couldn't use some of that cash to buy a replacement. Instead, we're going to have to loan someone in, hope we can stay up (which I think we will) and spend it on someone on the summer. I know money is tight but I think £1m is a realistic amount that should be spent on Sordell's replacement.

Glad we kept Mariappa, but I think with Bennett, Taylor and Nosworthy we will have enough to cope should he leave in the summer (which I think is more likely to happen then not unless his form dips alarmingly- which it has done in the past!).

Overall, fairly positive about the future, helped by Tuesday's result.

Marvin Thanks the fans, club and Dyche:

"Thank you everybody for the kind messages. Sad to be leaving watford but its a new chapter in my career that im delighted to be starting. I loved every minute at the club and will never have a bad word to say about anybody there. Id like to thank everybody at the club. And in particular the manager Sean Dyche for guiding and helping me to improve as a player and a person. I wish the club all the best for the future. Im very excited to have the opportunity to play for Bolton in the premiership and i cant wait to get started now. And id also like to thank the fans for all the support ive had over the years. Youve been great to me and i loved scoring goals for you!"

He could teach MM a lesson in humility and gratitude.
