Remember that! Think you would have been sectioned if you told people he would be spearheading Tottenhams title challenge in 2012!
Think of all the abuse from Chavs, Gooners and Mickey Mousers that we used to endure over that particular issue! Not any more, though
Just testing the water here, would you not swap for any of these thens: Rooney Aguero Silva Sturridge RVP
On the topic of Bale - check out my very first post on BBC 606: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A46158230 I like to think he read that and thought 'F*** you Moorpheus' and decided to become amazing
Rooney > Bale Aguero = Bale Silva < Bale Sturridge < Bale RVP = Bale That's my opinion, of course. Having said that, if any of those players were in the current Spurs squad, they would not look like fishes out of water. That shows the strength and balance we have, at present.
That 2nd goal of his last night was pure class. I doubt there's more than one or two players on the face of the planet who could have done that.
It's difficult to say of course who you would swap him for out of that list because you're not really comparing like for like. He's easily the best left winger in the Prem, probably one of the best in Europe, and is hugely important to the way we play. If we had one of those other players in our team I would imagine we would play a different style of football.
I wouldn't swap him for anyother player in the league, the scary thing is that there's still much more to come from him
Surely it depends on your team? Niko is decent enough cover for Bale so he wouldnt be toooo big a miss. Whereas an RVP or Aguero is the kind clinical striker your team needs?
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that we have to keep both Moddy and Bale, if we are ever to amount to a serious title-winning side. Rather than look to swap players, we should be looking to get those other players in, to make us stronger.
Its not so much what he can do, we all know that, he must scare the living **** out of every defence that he faces, its the uncertainty he puts in their minds how to play against him, rather than playing their own game.
I seriously think he could LDL, remember he is still only 22, he has all the attributes needed, height, power, pace and skill. We are even starting to see him being played in the "free" role and he has scored 12 goals already this season. From a Utd point of view, would you swap Rooney for Bale at the moment???
No fukin way..anyone resembling any form of excitement similar to that of Bale is maybe RVp and even then im afraid hand on heart i would not swap...A midfield Goalscoring Machine who creates alot of his own chances? fuk RVP!!
Luke - I did think of a similarity to CR, in open play yes, equally devastating, but I think CR edges it with heading ability, and as for deadball kicking, no-one comes close to CR, and they must account for say 5-10 goals a season. I'd like to see Bale get 5-10 on target!
