Yeah, but have we "declined" enough yet to be better than City? ;)

Wondering if any of the wums/abu's will mention that we should have had 2 more stonewall penalties in this match.

Well done Man Utd, Would love to know an honest/ unbiased oppinion of our (Stoke's ) overall performance tonight. From someone who was there please.?
Sounds like Utd were going to score every time they went forward... Pennant? Palacios? seemed to do OK.. Did we TRY or play HALF DECENT, or were we lucky/unlucky YOU could have had FOUR pens I think? When I saw Jones Kenwyne not Jerome I was mad as hell but, I would love to think we at least " did actually TRY"

Honestly hope you WIN that title now, Everton a massive favour too! YOU more than deserved the two pts tonight <applause> NO so UNPHAPPY Stoke fan honestly.
It could have been much worse. NOW go win that title. <ok>

It looked to me like Pulis got the tactics wrong. Jones seemed to be playing almost the Messi "false 9" role and was completely unsuited for it. Pretty much all your attacks faltered when they reached him, and you only really threatened when you got the ball out wide and whipped some crosses in. Not sure if Jones was supposed to be there to add steel to the midfield battle and bully De Gea from corners, but whatever he was supposed to do he didn't do it.

Defensively you were well organised and got numbers back, but then the risk with that is always that you will crowd your own box and risk giving penalties away when players like Valencia and Park run into the box. As happened, and yes we probably could have had at least another one.

You did actually try, although much of the trying was in defence, and threatened quite a bit when Jerome and Fuller came on and you went 442, but by then it was too little too late.

Overall, the scoreline pretty much reflects the game imo.

Just annoys me whenever we get a controversial decision given in our favor, you always get the same wums who say "United bought the ref", "FA are in United's back pocket, blah blah blah.

Yet when the refs don't give us the decisions or whenever the decision goes against us, they are nowhere to be seen.

Thanks buddie <ok> I would have started Jerome not Jones... per usual. We can NOT keep the ball.. and our defence of course will crack, eventually..
Same old problem which, we keep PLEADING with Pulis to put right.. I didn't find a decent link Swarbs so... Thanky you, good luck and.. i think, I know, I sure the title is ther for Utd too lose now. So, please shut Citeh up, I'm sure we'll give them a good game at our place. Sounds good Utd HOW many Titles? and counting.
I can NOT see you losing from here in.. Go get em. And I hope we're STILL here next season, I think? we're good enough just about anyways.

I think? the ONLY slight problem IRONIC I know was the first one? Some seem to think, Pennant got the ball first but ONLY after viewing it half a dozen times. It was one of those so.. it's makes not difference to me anyway. YOU deserved it, I'm thankful too the ref it wasn't way worse tbh. <ok> But you didn't get at least TWO others..

Funny ole game innit.. good luck lads

Potts, Jones was useless and you could actually hear TP bollocking him from the touchline. Whitehead played his usual 1 step forward two steps back roll and Walters imho should be no where near our box as that is twice in 2 consecutive games he has given away free kicks that have lead to goals. First 15 minutes we were actually the better side and had more shots on goal than Man U. We then started to sit deeper and deeper and let Man U pass around us and get behind us. Pennants challenge was a very rash one and Walters pull back was plain stupid. The one good thing I will take from the game though is that it took 2 penalties for Man U to score and did not manage it in open play. First season at Old Trafford we were embarrassed 4-0 so onwards and upwards. PS Crouch was really poor again too!

I actually thought that too - from looking at the slow mo replay from the camera behind the goal it looked like Pennant may just have got a slight touch on the ball before Park knocked it forwards. Surprised the City, Liverpool and other ABU fans haven't made more of that! :)

That's another good argument for having the extra officials behind the goal so they have the benefit of a better perspective on penalty decisions like that one - the ref will always be in almost completely the wrong position to make those calls, and the linesman often doesn't have a much better view. But then again, having seen the slow mo replay a couple of times, I'm still not sure whether Pennant made contact with the ball or not, so how's a ref going to do better if they see it once at full pace?

And as has been pointed out, we had a clear penalty turned down, so if the first decision was wrong then I guess it "evens out" if that's your thing <ok>

    Shawn and Swarbs,
Yup, but as Pennant and Walters were responsable for the pens, at least I think Pennant tried to get too the ball... and he did take the player so penalty it was.
As Waddo said, Walters was just plain stupid and for him too re Pennant, it's the wrong end of the pitch for both anyway.
And I don't buy this.. what goes around thing Swarbs.. IF it was US and Walters had gone done I would have said Penalty.. the did get it right IMO. WHY he didn't give the others is WHY so many fans do get angry and I can see why. He missed at least TWO blantant pens after that.

    Waddo,
As usual, as I heard it matie<ok> Jones = can't trap, shoot, tackle, keep the ball, control it = JEROME should have started IMO. WHY was Crouch playing anyway?
Never heard our "Nigel the voice" say he did anything right. But, it was v Utd and it seemed 2nd half they we're going to score every time they attacked.

From what I guessed, Pennant, Palacios we're good a big BONUS for us he didn't panic with the ball.. WHY did TP bring him off? and our defence seemed to do OK ish.
Even Wilko and Wilson we're in there half. WONDERS never cease. What happened to that "bus" Tony?
WELL done for what, It seemed like when listening, at least we did "give it go and fair play" Just a pity as usual "Some gave it away too easily" Hard to fault the player's too much imo. It was Utd away and even though it should/could have been worse we also had a decent header on target. <ok>
