I've lost track of the injuries, who signed before deadline, who has intl clearance, who is back from the ACON etc.....its been such a busy week. Would this be a realistic team for tonight, esp away from home? I believe Buz and HH are out? Are our new signings even fit enough to start? I really don't know what the state of play is for tonight. I know Taiwo has been training for a while with us now, long before the permit came through. I know Cisse was up north training yesterday before our game tonight. Onuha would be featuring one would hope. Traore and Tarbs ? are they back , will they feature? Zamora definitely won't play , signed too late. Is HH and Buzz definitely out? This one is too tough to call and i am not going to read too much into this game. A win would be a double bonus tonight. For me the new team nucleus starts on saturday and the sooner we get Samba Diakite back from africa the better, we are light in the middle.
Tarbs was still in africa for the morroco i would be suprise if he starts on sat even. would say hh up front, samba in the middle and smith on the left
Taarabt was on the bench yesterday in Niger - Morocco, so won't be with team tonight, Samba Diakite will be playing for Mali in their game against Botswana today, so probably won't be seen against villa (?), last game for Senegal was on sunday, but Traore wasn't named in the squad , is he back with the team already?? Guess Taiwo + Onuoha will start, not so sure about Cisse, are HH, Bothroyd, DJ in condition to play?
Would really love to see Cisse start his first R's game today, but just have my doubts. Will he make it to starting XI straight after signing yesterday. Bet he'd be fit to play, but it could even be 2 of Hulse/Macheda/Smith up front, with Cisse on bench... Defence is looking good, with Young-Onuoha-Ferdinand-Taiwo, midfield could look something like Mackie-Barton-Derry-SWP, if Buz is out with injury too.
We only have Cisse and dare I say it, Hulse who are fit to play up front. But we're going to be in trouble if Buz isn't fit. It does surprise me that we didn't make a move for a attacking mid yesterday. I hate to say it but Derry has looked dead the last few appearances, so I hope he doesn't play. Just have to wait and see tonight. One thing's for sure, teams are going to start finding it hard to score against us.
Cannot see Adel back just yet and think MH will not risk too many new players just yet because they have just come in and may not have 'jelled' yet . I will probably be wrong but who knows?
i agree , i am now at the stage where if i see Derry in the starting x1 i have no confidence, since he got pulled off against fulham at half time i have not seen him have a good game. I can see him solely been used like the wigan game from now on, if we are winning he comes on for 15/20 mins to play out the game. He doesnt look like he has 90 prem mins in his legs.
