    I met with most of the team in aspers last year, sometime. I dont remember much of it cause I was MORTAL but I got pictures with Fitz Hall, AC, Guthrie, Smith, Gutierrez, Williamson, Simpson, Routledge... i think that was it. Smith and Guthrie were the most polite, they were great and patient with me.

    Celtic used to be my 2nd team growing up but now I really dislike both teams! Yes, there's loads of true fans who simply love their club, but living over here, unfortunately you meet far too many who's support for their own club is founded entirely on hatred for the other!

    I bumped into Steve Harper and his family on New Years Eve (daytime) at a xmas fair in Hyde Park.
    I asked him whether Shay was going(as per the rumours at the time).He told me then that Shay was going(he didn't try to pull the wool over my eyes).

    Had my picture taken with him.

    Never met any Newcastle players, but Bobby Zamora lived opposite me when he was at Brighton!

    Saw Ashley Cole with SWP chatting up a few lasses, this was before the whole Cheat/Cheryl scandal, so when it broke out I wasnt all that surprised <laugh>

    I've not met any players out and about but i got insomnias autograph before a game and i asked Albert Luque if he would give me his but he just pissed off down the tunnel on his phone!

    Saw Given in Players and Gosforth High street
    Dabizas at Monument
    Jonas in Eldon Square
    Ryan Taylor at Yo! Sushi in Metrocentre (while the rest of the squad were in Portugal)

    Don't usually approach players but

    Was shopping in Eldon Square and was walking past GAME and i saw a few Sunderland players, namely Gavin McCann and Jason McAteer

    Now this was the season when they well on their way to setting a record of the lowest points total recorded by a Premier League team.

    God knows why they were showing their faces in town. Now, i don't like Jason McAteer as it is so i didn't want to miss the oppourtunity of going up to shake his hand then quickly move it to my face and shout "schoolboy error" for all to hear.

    The look on his face . . . priceless

    Now my second story goes like this

    i was about 18/19 and i was walking through Metrocentre Marks and Spencer with my girlfriend at the time. And i couldn't believe it!! walking towards me was none other than Newcastle United legend John Beresford . . . but wait ... what's he doing??

    He's only staring at my lasses cans!!!

    So i kept looking at him until he looks up at me, and gives me a cheeky grin and a nod as if to say "you've done well there my son"

    Can't knock him really, the little perv

    If were counting mackems, last year saw Alan Hutton at Central Station on the day of the Forest match, had a grey tracksuit top on and trousers to, he was trying to hide his face.
