You undoubtedly deserved the win guys, you pasted us off the park, until you gave up and let us look half decent for the last 10-15 mins and I thought I'd never say this, in Bale I reckon you actually have the best player in the world for his position (LW), but how much did you give those officials, I've never seen such ****e in my life, one yellow card in the whole match and it goes to a player for kicking the ball away in injury time
You thought that we should've been getting cards? Assou-Ekotto should have, I'll give you that, but Figueroa should've gone for stepping on Kranjcar when he was on the floor and there were quite a few others that normally would've been carded, too.
Good win for us. Don't get the jibe about us paying the officials, both teams should have had a player sent off, but Wigan's 'red card' offence came earlier. I was glad the ref was lenient, but it benefited both sides and didn't change the result, unlike the horrors we've suffered this season.
Parker fouled Moses twice in the opening 15 mins around the edge of your box, we wouldn't have scored from either free kick, but no free kicks were given anyway, is Parker teflon coated as he seems to get away with an awful lot? Figgy should undoubtedly have seen red and we probably deserved another couple of yellows too, but Assou-Ekottos foul was yards away from the linesman and not much further from the ref too, how is it possible that nothing was spotted by either of them?
If fouls weren't given against Parker, then how was he going to get cards? Could it be that he was just winning the ball?
My point was, he did foul Moses, but the ref and his 'helpers' turned a blind eye and continued to do so all game.
Think that might just be your own perspective on it, to be honest. You didn't actually have the ball very often.
We almost certainly would have lost the match even if we'd bribed all the officials, we're just not good enough to beat a top class side, even if you play ****e and we have all the luck in the world, but that still doesn't take away from the simple facts that the officials were an utter joke and Parker can seemingly get away with anything when he plays against us. He was utter filth last season (obviously in a West Ham shirt), the dirtiest player I've seen at our ground since the mid80s, but he still got away with everything and he's not cleaned his act up much, even though he's surrounded by players who are 10x better, how does he get away with it all? I know none of you will ever see it; home fans are often blinkered to their own players shortcomings; but maybe my posting will subconsciously soak in and you'll start to see just how dirty he actually is, which is sad because underneath that, there's a damn good CM waiting to come out.
Seeing as you watch Parker so intently, you appear to have missed all the kickings he gets...in the head! ...just gets up and gets on with it. Blatantly tripped and taken out at the end, no nonsense, just gets up and carries on, he takes as good as he dishes out, so stop whining about him, you wouldn't want to be his shins during a match. Blinkered!
Looks like Rose could be playing LB for the next 3 games. Not a nice tackle from Benny and not one of his best performances.
A good result, especially with City losing and Chelsea only getting a draw. That's three points we missed-out on last season.
A red card for Benny are you joking! I think there is a gulf of understanding in current times as to what constitutes a deliberate foul and what is part and parcel of a contact sport. Cynical foul play causing danger to an opponent is quite different from accidental contact while trying to play the ball.
