Having spent all day in hospital with the wife, the only sporting communication I had was the sky sports app on my phone. Imagine my supprise when at 3 ish I checked it and "DONE DEAL Portsmouth sign Burnley striker Alex MacDonald and Preston forward Juvhel Tsoumou". I tried to check the newsnow website and nothing checked this forum and nothing so when I get home and check there is still nothing, decide to check the BBC transfer page and find it was Plymouth that have signed them. I know we are not in a position to sign or allowed to sign people and a should not have got my hopes up but you would have thought people would get the basic information correct. I know we need to raise funds for the taxman and wages, but have we the numbers in the squad to sell the 3 or 4 that is rumoured to move on. I am normally quite positive but at the moment I am struggling to see any light at the end of the tunnel (probably no light because we have not paid the electricity bill). Roll on the end of the transfer window and bring on a credible new owner please.
I've been relying on the News webchat - at the moment is still has a 0-0 scoreboard for ins & outs - and on twitter, so saw the tweet from Henderson saying he was "Putting this to bed now! I'm not going anywhere I'm very happy at Portsmouth and looking forward to hull sat #pup" - also on Ipswich site that Joel Ward has turned them down, just waiting to hear about Pearcey and the latest is a rumour that Rangers & Celtic are after Futacs. I'm not sure if I'm right but I believe we can only sell at a good price, not a knockdown price due to the winding up order in place.

Just read that Joe Mattock has signed on loan to Brighton until the end of the season - boy, didn't we need him with Hermann gone.
Just been told that there is nothing in the Futacs Celtic/Rangers story. I think Sky is bored with the lack of action so are trawling the rumour pages

Dudley Sutton - wasn't he in the Beiderbecke series? A trilogy by Alan Plater featuring lots of music by Bix Beiderbecke.

Bix Beiderbeck used to drink so much, in the days of prohibition he used to have a bathtub full of hooch, which he used to sup from using a ladle, so it is said. He didn't live to a great age, but had a big influence on Jazz. Nice!
