What are your personal experience with meeting players around newcastle?

Can be anything - good or bad.

I haven't had too much interaction with them, but...

    1) Pancrate stopped me in Jesmond and asked me for directions to osborne road, he was very polite and grateful.

    2) Met Judas about 2 weeks before he left, in Floritas. As much as I wish he wasn't, he was nice enough - seemed reasonably down to earth and pleasant enough. Bastard.

    3) Met Nolan out in town once, stood next to him at the bar, and he was a very nice guy. My flatmate told him that he'd gone to the same school as him, and he then bought us both a pint. Top lad, he's a hero.

    4) The other week I went to Silverlink odeon to see a film. This lanky prick sat in front of me, spoke all the way through the film to his little chavvy bird who was equally as loud. Got up with 5 minutes left of the film and began to shout at the screen and at the audience in London Ali G type slang, saying "this films ****ing ****. How can you people sit and watch this ****" etc etc while his little minion stood by and laughed.

This is when i realised it was Nile Ranger and I realised all the rumors I heard about him being a knob were correct.

    Anybody got anything else?

Went to that 'Koosday' around christmas time
saw Andy Carroll and Danny Simpson.
Andy was with a few birds and 'minders' with geordie slags throwing themselves all over trying to get his attention. I also seen him stand on a barstool dance very gay and not fall off.
Danny Simpson however was with that Hoyte fella from the smogs, Simpson was a genuine lad nice enough and was offering bottles of champaz around to anyone that was chatting away to him, he offered me some - dont like the stuff so i got a shot of jaga instead ;)

Saw Liam Ridgewell with Barry Bannann up at Star City Birmingham cinema watching the fighter. Also saw David Bentley out in Apre, a club just outside of Brum after he signed for Birmingham City with a few of the other players and Gabby Agbonlahor! Lol, he was a twat though whenever he finished his pint he'd keep throwing the glass on the floor and kept dry humping 17-19 year old girls id say. And when they would tell him to piss off he'd mouth of at them calling them slags and stuff. Top Bloke.

Not a Newcastle player but I met Darren Eadie (when he played for Norwich) after I slept with his girlfriend. He was a tad irate with me.

Also in Norwich met Chris Sutton and was at his leaving do when he became the highest valued transfer in the UK. £5 million move to Blackburn and that was when £5 million was a lot of money!

Used to play a bit of golf with David Craig, Bob Moncur, Pop Robson and Ron Guthrie when I was up in Newcastle.

Played a lot of golf with Gerry Daly and Kenny Burns when I lived and worked in Derby, must say the post game beers went well on into the night. A couple of great lads and brilliant company.

Not that I'm name dropping or owt..<laugh>

    Met the following
Alan Shearer- Seemed exactly how he came across on the TV.
Warren Barton- Seemed like a nice bloke, saw him at the training ground, and once came in the club shop, whilst I was getting Solano's name on the back of my away shirt that year..
Peter Beardsley- Stopped and said hello everyone on the way up to the match a couple of times in the 03/04 season.
Robert Lee- Signed autographs, whilst trying to watch the cricket at Chester-le-Street.
Bobby Robson- Didn't realise I was trying to get his autograph, whilst at the cricket, was with Peter Beardsley and Peter Reid, who both signed autographs. Later found out a relative of his had just died.
Alain Goma- met him a few times, came to present trophies for a football tournament at Ushaw College where my Dad used to work, was really nice and just seemed like a member of the public, after that saw him a couple of times at the training ground and he always asked how I was.
Also me and my sister got our photo taken with Kevin Keegan when I was 9.

Been in Manchester since last September and I'm still yet to see any City/United players.
I might track down Rooney, sleep with him and sell my story to the sun or something

<laugh> That was my mates Halloween costume last year! Suffice to say, it wasn't wise wearing it at midday... Some old biddy's will never look at him the same way again.
Some old blokes got the wrong idea however.

Coming from Bishop Auckland and now living in Belfast, I'd rarely see any Toon players...Met them all in Newcastle Airport when I was a toddler but can't remember it. Also was on the same flight as Shay Given from Belfast to Newcastle, he was complete dick to the air-stewardess, he did pose for a photo, but literally stood there and frowned! I told my Mam when I got back and she was devastated (her favourite player at that point).

Met Alan Thompson and Neil Lennon in a bar in Belfast a day before Lennon became Celtic caretaker (and Thompson his assistant). They were over watching a N.I v Spain under 19s game. Lennon got all the attention from the Irish lot, but I just stood and Talked to Thompson for ages, spoke about Ranger (and potentially how good he could be, also Vuckic) and tried my hardest to get any info about the Andy Carroll/Steven Taylor bust up but he wouldn't budge.

I see a lot of Ulster/Ireland international rugby players out and about in Belfast.

I must say I have never met any players, but I did see someone write 'What r u doin to my f***** team, you w***** in the dirt on Barry Fry's car just before a game in Peterborough.

Two weeks later, I saw a picture taken just after the game where underneath it said 'It would appear I am winning games. BF'. That was pure class.

Not met any Toon players (yet). But I knew Mat Le Tissier when i was growing up, we were in the same school year. Played with and against him many times before he went to Southampton. Played against Graeme Le Soux as well.

Met Emlyn Hughes, Steve Perryman and Phil Parks when I went to a soccer ranch as a kid and they were the coaches.

And I shared a lift with Mark Hughes and Arthur Albiston in the Tower Thistle Hotel in London when i was in London for a football tournament and Man U were staying at the hotel coz they were playing Millwall. Didn't say a word to them but when they got out for their floor and the doors closed I heard them both start laughing. Then I smelt something and realised one of them had dropped his guts. Always wondered which one it was? Don't suppose i'll ever know :)
