    Mapps is in but no Sords!!

    True. But when he arrived he was injured. Plus, he did get some time when Sords was injured.

    It sounds as if Aidy didn't get that close to going to either Wigan or Newcastle. Still waiting to hear on Sordell.

    I would assume that our valuation was met by Wigan, but not by the Toon. I then assume that as with any normal person Mapps would rather live in Watford than in Wigan.

    If true, a good long-term investment for them and a good shorter-term investment for us. At the moment, given where we are and what we need, I think I'd rather have Smithy.

    It's an interesting rumour, but pennies plus Smith doesn't tally with Laurence Bassini asking for Sordell to be taken out of the side. It's within Bassini's remit to say we want to cash in on a player (although there are some managers who would walk in that situation), but a deal which largely focussed on a swap would be Dyche's domain.

    QPHa have brought Cisse and agreed terms with Zamora, but deal not signed. So cannot see Marv going there - I think we are in for a big surprise...what Prem team leaves it to the last minute to make surprise signings?
