Staines That wasent what I meant...just trying to outline that to say Northolt is in the middle of nowhere in regard to transport links is very short sighted. Wasent it only a number of years ago, the Western International market site, and old EMI sites were being looked at as possible venues for a new QPR stadium... Think they were in Hayes... Stan
We should move west, we have no local support, just look at the white city estate or the kids playing football, they all have arsenal shirts on. Move to a more prosperous area with better transport and cheaper land is a no brainer. we just need a tube line nearby and quick access to a motorway.
Stan - I did know what you were saying mate I remember a good few years ago Warner Brothers were gonna build a spanking new theme park on the sight of the old dry ski slope but for some reason or other it fell through. They even spent millions doing up Hillingdon station in anticipation. Could be worth a go i spose. To be honest it would be closer for me to get to from soon to be Staines-Upon-Thames so anywhere in the Northolt/Hayes/Uxbridge area gets my vote every time
I think it could be tough to remain in H&F with a new stadium, the A40 corridor would certainly be something TF may look at...
Lots of space, but too far away from the Bush! What they should've done, really (if only TF had come along 7 or 8 years ago!) is to have built it where the Westfield is now. Or, what they could've done is to build the Westfield underground and built us on top of it!!!! That's what I would've done. Oh well. The White City ground is what we need to focus on. Rip the whole area up, and put a new stadia in there! It's perfect and everybody knows it.
I work across the road from the Unigate Dairy, and I just wanted to report that it is currently on fire and is rapidly going up in smoke (see my picture below). Wood Lane has been closed and so far there have been no reports of any injuries or danger to surrounding buildings. Hopefully that will remain the case. Anyway, the fire may or may not have any bearing on the potential to use of the site for a new stadium. Iâm sure that it will make it more difficult for any last minute new signings to get to South Africa Road though, but hopefully theyâll be able to still get access from the Bloemfontein Road end.
are you sure we need a new stadium when we couldnt even fill the ground against chelsea the other day???
Yes, every club that has bought a new stadium has had about 50% put onto their attendance even if they werent filling the old one. We have about 1k restricted view seats that arent sold unless people are desperate and a lot of seats in the lower loft that cant be bought by adults without a kid.
I'd think any last minute signings may end up landing on the pitch, maybe Sir Les could be on stand-by!...
A certain Mr A.Bhatia and Mr T. Fernandes were seen running from the incident at 09:35 this morning. They were headed towards Loftus Road Stadium giggling hysterically.
Just wanted to say that last night was my first visit to Villa Park and I was impressed with the ground. Would think this is close to what we'd be after, albeit part of a bigger complex. Found the staff friendly too. Had a long discussion about Cisse with the guy behind the turnstile (I arrived early so he wasn't pressed). Be lucky to get a hurrrruuuumph! at the Ellerslie turnstiles (that's if they didn't have their ipods on).
