Sanctuaire for the 2m Novice Chase at Aintree? Be interesting if he went there and missed Cheltenham. He'd be fresher than most and on good ground, round a tight track and they might not catch him. He looks super fast and super bold at his fences.

Really enjoyed it if nothing else. <cheers>

Sanctuaire, imho, couldn't cut it with the best over hurdles and even if he improves over fences the likes of Sprinter Sacre, Peddlers and Al Ferof should still have him held. That was a very enjoyablee perfomance though!

    Jewson ?
Always thought the horse would get further than 2m and would probably struggle to make his mark in what is likely to be the best Arkle in years

Totally agree. But after the 'big 3' have cut each others throats at Cheltenham he could pick up the pieces at Aintree.

That's certainly where I'd aim him anyway. I see little point taking him to Cheltenham unless he gets given a favourable handicap mark which seems unlikely.

Taking win, clearly liked the test and got a positive ride. Linroyale Boy will win a Southwell maiden once he learns about the game, slow away and could easily have been tailed off after a furlong. Dewala ran well too, another who should win on the surface in time.

I often think it takes a horse that wants further than 2m to win the arkle. well not neccessarily wants more than 2m but certainly can stay more than 2m. that said the jewson does look the significantly weaker race at the minute.

    Exactly Oddy...who gives a ****.

We are going to be bombarded by cringeworthy BBC coverage and interviews with some British "athlete" who scraped a medal in a sport that only four people actually compete in globally.

Pistol shooting is also part of the games. This must be the only sport where the secret is to expend zero calories and stay completely still minus a trigger pinky.

I have zero interest in this bottomless sump of taxpayers money but I'm always a naysayer when hungover...I'll probobly buy tickets tomorrow..<laugh>

    Nice winner Nass.

Yeah Ruby fancied a cold Tuesday in England, not hard to see why.

Who's our Taunton bumper expert ?
I want to know why the top one is 11/2 having hacked up in her only bumper start, penalty is nullified by the claimer who has only had 4 runs this season but chalked up 2 wins so clearly no mug.
Looks a decent heat but 11/2 about a proven performer seems OK to me ???

I put up Nomchecki at 8's last night and is now into 5's, still a reasonable price though as i really feel this is his grade. I have also done him in a reverse forcast with Renard as i still think he could be improving.

Not a betting heat for me Grizzly but I do think the Tizzard mare Dimpsy Time could be the proverbial "winner without a penalty" - well fancied and beaten just a neck on debut by a 4YO horse to whom she was conceding 12lbs weight-for-age, I think she can gain compensation here. Gowithdflo had the same claimer up on debut so still effectively carries the penalty and a couple she beat have run again since and lost. I think the Henderson horse with Bass on board warrants respect, but the tongue tie first time out puts me off. I think Stick mentioned the Lavelle horse was well liked by the yard and she looks to be fav at the moment. Go Annie won over a much shorter distance and was holding on so does not look over-endowed with stamina. Too many imponderables for me but if I had to pick one it would be the Tizzard mare.
