Think it's best to not appeal and let him miss tomorrow and the 2 after, or else he will play v Blackburn and miss the 4 games after...

Interesting. No idea if it means anything that he'd be supporting the appeal, but a nice sentiment considering we've all been calling him 'that baldy ****' all weekend.

Think those of us (including myself) who were criticising the guy are now eating humble pie have to admit that we got it wrong on that front. As to what his chances are, don't know never heard of this type of thing happening before.

The ban would have to surely be dropped if the Brighton player actually backs Cabaye. But knowing the F.A they'll not drop because they're up their on arses!

If the Brighton player says there was no intent or it was accidental in his letter then the FA should do nothing about it.

Has to be infront of the FA by 6pm though to contest the ban.

Agreed, especially bearing in mind, the FA have a history of not overturning charges and this could lead to him missing the Sunderland game or if a game got called off for bad weather he could end up missing Arsenal.

Yeah, hope we are not daft enough to appeal. 99% sure the FA wouldn't recind it

Four game ban is only if the appeal is deemed frivolous.

Just watched Pardew's pre-match press conference on nufctv, he is fuming at Ray Stubbs, haha Like u say Brighton actually contacted us about backing Cabaye, and El-Abd (i think that's his name) has written a letter with ours to the FA backing Yohan. Still can't see him getting away with it 2bh

If we don't appeal with the letter from Brighton and the player involved; Cabaye will face a ban.

If we do show the FA the letter from the Brighton player and contest it; Cabaye might NOT face a ban.

    Worth contesting in my opinion.

I'd do it! Cabaye is vital to our season, and we can't just accept a 3 game ban if we have a chance of it getting lifted.

Exactly. It isn't just an immediate extra game ban for every appeal that gets rejected. It's if you get an appeal against, say, chinning somebody in the middle of the pitch with plenty of camera footage of the incident.

Pretty typical that the cup match with Ben Arfa's wonder goal has 1 camera watching it, and the one with this incident which is only really visible from 1 particular angle had a whole TV crew <doh>.

If the Brighton player is backing Cabaye think it will stay at 3, but what I think and what actually happens could be two totally different things.

Only 4 game ban if frivolous and (according to some journos) it should all be decided before our game tomorrow so he wouldn't be banned for mackems even if 4 games.
