    Perfectly put Norway.

It's like chucking away winning lottery tickets just because you haven't won the jackpot - if we can get anyone who improves our team just a bit then we're likely to improve from our position of being in the mix of the relegation candidates (especially with our new found organisation). If we'd buried a few of those glaring misses that we've had then how many more points would we have now?

Once we've improved the overall level, then we can take the next step to upgrade again but refusing better strikers because they're not much better than what we have (even though I think Cisse IS much better) is a bit short-sighted.

This is a big gamble but I have a feeling we might be on a winner for once.

Where is WBA today? Cisse is the master of the dodgy barnet and our friend from up North is normally on the look out for that as a top credential. You never know, he may also like a Pukka pie or two...

Lazio striker understood to be travelling to London

    DjibrilCisse_2638311.jpg

Sky Sports sources understand that Djibril Cisse is travelling to England on Monday night ahead of a potential move to Queens Park Rangers.

Mark Hughes earlier revealed that QPR were in talks with Lazioover a deal for the striker after identifying him as a transfer target.

The Rs manager is looking to bring in reinforcements before Tuesday's deadline, particularly in attacking areas as he looks to guide the club away from Premier League trouble.

Cisse has experience of English football from his time with Liverpool and has found it difficult to show his best form for Lazio since joining the Serie A club from Panathinaikos last summer.

He penned a four-year deal with Lazio at the time but it now appears they are ready to let him leave and sources in Italy understand he is on his way to London.

The 30-year-old is expected to undergo a medical with QPR on Tuesday before possibly clinching a move to Loftus Road.

Good luck with Cisse, always rated him as a player, just feel he has been unlucky with bad injuries during his career.

Queens Park Rangers poised to sign Lazio striker Djibril Cisse as manager Mark Hughes strives to avoid relegation

The Premier League have already completed the loan signings of midfielder Samba Diakité — confirmed on Monday from French club Nancy — AC Milan left-back Taye Taiwo, also on loan, and the permanent £2.75m acquisition of defender Nedum Onuoha from Manchester City.

The fee for 30-year-old Cisse was agreed on Friday but QPR have had to wait until a replacement was found by his present club, Lazio, who have now bid more than £11m for CSKA Moscow’s Keisuke Honda. Cisse, who has struggled in Italy since his move last summer from Greek club Panathinaikos, is extremely keen to return to England where he previously played for Liverpool and also, briefly, on loan at Sunderland.

If QPR sign Cisse — Hughes maintained on Monday the deal was “far from done and dusted” - it is expected to end their interest in the Wigan Athletic pair of Hugo Rodallega, who is out of contract this summer, and Victor Moses. Hughes revealed that Wigan had rejected QPR’s offer for Rodallega last week which led to a move for Cisse. Initial talks were over a loan but it was since agreed the deal should be permanent.

The manager is also hoping to bring in another central defender, having missed out on Alex, who has joined Paris St Germain. But the club are not expected to raise their bid of £7.5m for Christopher Samba which has been rejected by Blackburn Rovers. QPR could now rekindle their interest in Tottenham Hotspur’s Sébastien Bassong, but Spurs would need to find a replacement first.

Hughes said he didn’t expect QPR to take Carlos Tévez from City on loan. “I’d consider him every day of the week, but it is unlikely,” he said. “Much as I would love to think it could happen, I’d be very surprised. He’s very much a Manchester City player and the view is he will be there until at least the end of the season.”

QPR are delighted with the signing of Diakité, who is currently on international duty with Mali at the Africa Cup of Nations. “He’s big and strong, and just the sort of player we need,” added Hughes of the 23-year-old midfielder whose loan deal has an option for a permanent transfer. “He is a good age, has got strength, power, can carry the ball and can score goals.”

Good! Lets give Cisse a run. I think he would be a good disruptor up front.

Hes said his goodbyes to their fans, looks like its done and dusted.

1448: France forward Djibril Cisse has said bid farewell to Lazio following reports that he has agreed a deal to join QPR. "I want to thank all the Lazio fans and everyone I've met in these months for their affection and support," he wrote in Italian on Twitter. "I'm sorry if I've been a disappointment for some people but I want to say that I've always given 100%."

So it looks like a couple of strikers, a couple of defenders and one midfielder so far. 8 hours left to get Tevez and we are done.

    Up the R's!!!!

I thought he had signed too late for tomorrow's game... I guess he could mean that it's the first game he will be at as a QPR player, but not necessarily playing.

2.5 year deal which is a good amount of time for us, I was dreading something like the Agyemang deal.

    He look very conservative here!
