The scousers have tonight abjectly apologised for including the old scousers fan making monkey gestures at Evra in their video. They said they did not realise. What??? People and the press have talking about nothing else. The scousers at the instigation of Dalglish of course wanted to rub Evra's nose in it. Never mind that they are attracting the worst type of fans. If a man of 59 can abuse a player for his colour, he must feel he is doing it with Dalglish's blessing. He has become their symbolic leader. No amount of spin from the scousers can disguise the depth to which they have sunk. And it is all the fault of their manager. Did he come out and say he didn't want Evra abused? because if he had said that no one would have dared making racist gestures. Instead he went of his way to make sure that Evra had a hard time from the racists. he even made sure that none of his own black players will be offended by the inevitable chants and boos. Will the FA at last take action against the club that is dragging the game into the gutter? When will Evra get justice? When he will get the apology he deserves from Suarez and Dalglish?
Could you not have just added this into one of the many threads that have already been created on this story
Spot the difference: Liverpool fan arrested for allegedly racially abusing Oldham defender: "Whatever the outcome of what is now a police investigation, all of us are deeply sorry for what happened on Friday night and our players and our Club pass on our sincere regrets to Tom Adeyemi for the upset and distress he suffered as a result of the matter at hand." Liverpool fan arrested for allegedly racially abusing Man Utd defender: "Footage featuring an alleged incident during the match was mistakenly included in the highlights package on the club's website. This was a mistake, it should not have been included and we are sorry it happened. It was removed immediately when it was brought to our attention." Classy
One day the whole thing will come back to bite Dalglish. Not today, not tomorrow but it will happen one day if there is any justice. You are absolutely right. Adeyemi was abused and he got an apology. Mind you it was 2 whole days after the event and then after some pressure from people outside the club. Evra gets racially abused this time by a fan from the stands. All the press and decent people outside football should put pressure on the club to apologise to Evra. This is the least he deserves.
I wonder will he be saying something similar when Suarez gets a worse reception at OT? No bloody way.
At OT all the fans should carry anti-racism banners: Kick out racism and all that. No mention of suarez but we'll show to Dalglish that he has made a massive mistake in taking the side of someone found guilty of racist abuse.
Are you guys going to condemn the five thousand odd United fans singing about Hillsborough on saturday? Thought Not!! The actions of United fans at Anfield was disgusting but is being glossed over by the actions of one complete moron of a Liverpool fan....... Disgusting
I suppose you have proof to support this, such as a video posted on your own clubs website for example?
making light of racism or other offensive actions demonstrates that you are interested only in winding things up rather then eliminating the nastier side of football. The monkey guy is a ****ing moron and I have not bumped into any liverpool fan on this site or anywhere else who condones his actions....so your KKK coments are completely inappropriate, juvenile and only used to stir up trouble......sick if all of this hate towards Liverpool fans who have done nothing wrong.....
And yet your fans justify the hate towards Evra for apparently being a liar for reporting what he seen as a racist comment, a comment that Suarez admitted saying in the statement he released after he was banned... interesting.
Your club and fans are being hypocritical. They abuse a victim of racism and support the person who was racist. Evra didn't get an appology for that incident and I doubt very much he will get one for this incident like the Oldham player did.
Yet you have just said it was 5,000 odd United fans singing songs about Hillsborough ? Don't complaining about tarring all with the same brush and then do it yourself as it makes you look silly
the 5000 figure was from published journalism on a thread on the Liverpool page. i was only quoting a piece of journalism. I was not there so did nt know it had happenned....i was amazed when I found it happenned but had hardly been reported in the press.
Not a pop at you but you are quoting something in the press as fact - if that's the case then there could be no problem with what United fans were singing - on the basis that the press don't lie ? However the press do get things wrong and sensationalise things - our fans singing that song was wrong but using something in the press ( The Liverpool Echo I think ? ) to support an arguement about Hillsborough chanting is also wrong. Like I said I don't condone the chants, in fact they are sick, but tarring all United fans with the same brush ( well all 5,000 ) is exactly what you are complaining about.
What im complaining about is that one moron Liverpool fan does a monkey dance and the press jump on it. More than 1 manchester United supporter sings about Hillsborough and hardly a mention is made....neither is right, but both should recieve. The media sensationalise the racism issue an gloss over others. And many man Utd fans on this site have jumped on the bandwagon to have a go at Liverpool fans and label us a racist club. I only said 5000 as that is what was quoted in the article. What else am i supposed to write? I think alot of people on here are guilty of trying to label Liverpool and its fans as something they are not.......Just sick of Liverpool and its fans being made out to be some kind of Spawn of Satan, whilst Man Utd fans seem to think they have some sort of permanent halo over their heads....
Published journalism?!? You mean this: http://www.clickliverpool.com/sport...d-the-real-shame-of-latest-anfield-clash.html If so, then that is not published journalism. Click Liverpool is just an advert for Click Creative, the web design agency. The "story" is just a well designed blog, and there are many blogs out there from people who saw far more than one Liverpool fan making racist gestures during the match...
First of all, United fans don't think they have some sort of permanent halo over their heads, we condemn our own idiots as much as anyone. The problem for Liverpool as I see it is that Dalglish made a right mess of the whole Suarez incident, the way he handled it all was terrible. If he had just came out and said the lad had said something silly in the heat of the moment that he regretted, got Suarez to make an apology to Evra (which he still has not done) and handed him some kind of club punishment (such as a small fine) as a token gesture, then I think the whole thing would of blown over quite quickly with a much lighter ban for Suarez, maybe even just a fine from the FA, especially as many people including Evra himself had said he didn't believe he actually was a racist. Instead he chose to dig his heels in playing the victim, followed by the Suarez shirts and even suggestions that they would sue Evra, I think this was all a PR disaster, add to that the couple of fans caught on TV in the following weeks with racist abuse and monkey chants and of course the press are going to have a field day, what did you really expect? Rooney was in the papers for weeks for swearing in front of a camera and I'm pretty sure racism makes a better headline.
One of the things I have noticed during this whole episode is how the scousers fans cannot distinguish between what is written in a reputable journal or news website and what's written on a club website magazine as a blog. In trying to justify Suarez's position for example on his behaviour and his innocence and to demonstrate that the verdict of the panel was flawed, they brought our several so called key published articles as supporting their arguments, and when you investigate further you find that the authors are all regular bloggers on an inhouse magazine of the club. That is why the club's and Dalglish's written and verbal statements are so important. Their fans only believe their club's views. For example, they will not believe that Carroll had been offered in a swap deal with City, because the club and Dalglish have denied it. yet most sensible people will think that this is something that has probably heppened behind the scenes and now the scousers are only denying it because it has fallen through.
Dalglish hasn't denied it now, he's had a go at City for leaking his interest in the deal http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...sfer-talk-should-be-kept-private-6297228.html Yet more egg on his face...is he going for the world's largest omelette?
Oh no, another sensationalist article about something that DIDN'T happen. Dalglish didnt deny it therefore it must have happened I think Mancini denying it puts that ridiculous story to bed
