Morning Boggers, hope all is well Phil Hay's reporting the Smith link & he is usually reliable so lets hope we can agree terms! tonights game is going to be a toughy. Whoever we get in wont be legible to play I doubt but it could still give the team a positive lift
I certainly did along with Keith Andrews but Smith his young and plays like Paul Reaney very exciting prospect hope there is a buy clause because we won,t want this boy to go back
Dont think im complaining about this signing (if we pull it off!) because I am not. Cant wait to see him play in the famous white strip. Think its a bit harsh on young Thompson but he still has time on his sides & its been a big ask for him to step in like he did, but he did it very well. Lets hope theres a CB to go with Smith & we stand half a chance if he can keep our squad fit! Andrews would be a real coup! Townsend Delph Andrews Snod & Clayton (if he play 5 accross the midfield) would give us the best midfield in the league, but maybe a bit too attacking IMO. Think wages will be the problem though
Cheers Bucks, 60. If the deal is done & we get the paperwork to the FL in time, I think any deal done today means the player might be available tonight. However, it would involve a lot of rushing around & no time to meet team mates etc. So if a deal is done today, its unlikely the player would be picked for tonight. Would, however, give Thompson a big incentive to put in a good shift to give SG a selection problem for Saturday.
Nah, Boggers. I believe the deal had to be done yesterday. I suppose i could be wrong but pretty sure. Who else do we want to sign. everyone keeps mentioning midfielders but i dont think we need any as a priority, I'd prefer a CB
YEP saying that Smith will be on loan until the end of the season with a view to a permanent deal. Fantastic news if true.
If its going to be a loan/permanent, then that is good news, now just a CB and a strong midfielder, and 3 points tonight and I will be a happy bloke.
Well they're also reporting that we're going back in for Clingan, so that would be our midfield sorted Then like you say, we just need another defender and all will be good. Hopefully.
