New Zealand Black Cocks

I was roving around the internet and came across this gem, the New Zealand Badmington Federation decided they needed a name for the team in the same vein as the NZ rugby team the All Blacks, as they also played in black and it being badmington they sensibly decided on the "Black Cocks" as being the identity to unify behind and attract new sponsorship, you can imagine the crowds being encouraged in their support to chant "come on you Black Cocks", "Go Black Cocks" and my favourite "Up the Black Cocks".

Honory mention to the Peruvian football team that choose this splendid name to play under.... Deportivo ****a.

Hope they get lot's of media coverage - just to see that look in Georgie Thompsons eyes everytime she says 'black cocks' and licks her lips...

 

This was around 2005, after about a year and lots of pressure from the International Federation the nickname was dropped, they did get a number of sponsorship offers from condom manufacturers though.

 

I've got a Deportivo ****a shirt as I couldn't resist it but the name was lost on the inhabitants of Brussels.

 

Haha love it. I do like that about New Zealand sports teams, they're nearly all plays on the name All Blacks. The basketball team is called the Tall Blacks.
