ok, Ive heard rumours about one of our players being gay but I never believed it. Well there could be but its not the one people were saying.
Mackie has kids I know that. I remember reading a piece by The Secret Footballer who writes a column for the Guardian every saturday. He talked about how within the camp there are gay players it just isnt made public. As most people on here say it would take a high profile player coming out to really kick start people accepting them in the game. Personally I couldnt care less if someone is gay or straight and I wish that we were in a position where players felt comfortable about coming out. The problem is it's the 1% that cause all the trouble that will no doubt worry that they'll be infected with gay kudies if someone on the pitch is gay. I remember against City a chant of "Joe Hart takes it up the arse" started and he turned to the fans and flashed a thumbs up. Funniest moment at Loftus Road this season and credit to Joe Hart.
I remember a similar thing with Tim flowers, but he did a full moon during play and everyone broke out in laughter. These days someone would try to get him arrested for indecent exposure.
I'd like to think that it doesn't matter but you'd need to be very brave to come out with the banter from away fans and risk the possibility that team mates will be of mixed opinions and shun you. Society is progressing but I don't think football has ever been at the forefront of social acceptance and you even get fans still being sexist (let alone racist) so it does remain a bit of an old boys club. One day (fingers crossed).
Just watched the documentary. Gay issues aside felt sorry for the poor girl, her dad's a right nasty twat and she knows it.
Newcastle Xisco is gay. Type his name on Google and click images, some of the pictures on there will surprise you!
To his eternal shame, her dad took the side of least resistance, placated the ignorance of johnny caveman - and failed his own brother in the process. Clever girl and neice to die for. Held a mirror up for us to see ourselves as fans I thought. It's us and our ready abuse that agents and players straight, gay or otherwise are frightened of. We need to get a grip and focus on the professional aspects of the game we love and leave personal irrelevances out of it.
Faurlin is married with a son. I would love it if Samba were gay. Can you imagine that. Talk about putting an end to stereotypes! You never know if he were gay it might be enough to turn myself! A legend that man.
We are getting in shaky territory naming players, the mods will probably end up deleting posts or maybe the whole thread.
I thought Rooney liked / likes the "mature lady".......average 70 ish.........And his chat line (from what I am led to believe is) show us your bus pass darling...............
