    Yeah it was implied they were current, they'd already covered Clough. There's the (fair in my opinion) argument that when he referred to Justin as a 'puff' he didn't mean in an offensive way, just banter and at the time fairly acceptable.

    Matt Lucas' reaction to the Brighton chants was about right, saying that you can't be over the top with being offended, that you've got allow for some stick.

    "We can see you holding hands", said it was witty. World's apart from just calling someone a ****ing puff and part of just normal distasteful banter, the reply, "you're too ugly to be gay!"

    Malice however is near impossible to measure so grounds have no option but for a zero tolerance policy.

    Woud it really bother most fans if a player was gay?

    Just find it a pity that any player that was gay would feel the need to hide it. The let's kick racism out campaign maybe should be more to do with anti-bigitory and tolerance.

    If you look at Gareth Thomas the Welsh rugby union/league player, he doesn't appear to have suffered much backlash since he came out as being gay.

    Think everyone would, they would all come out if one did as I think the reaction would be better than expected, a lot of players are scared to be the first one. Also the fact that Justin Fashanu came out too early didn't help, though fair play to him for doing so.
