Need to send out a message to all QPR and Chelsea fans, to thank them for their conduct through the last week. There were a few numpties on each side on Not606 last week, but the overwhelming feeling (both on the board and at the game) was good natured, and I thing nearly everyone understood the significance of the game and the potential problems should anyone really get out of hand. I'm not forgetting the few idiots in and around the ground who couldn't control themselves, but I'm delighted that we can talk about the match (and the shocking penalty decision that led to your goal ) rather than crowd violence, racism, arrests, red cards etc. Much of the credit should go to the mods (Brixton and Goldhawk on the QPR board, and SW6 and Ginger on the Chelsea board) for agreeing a policy and sticking to it. But thanks to everyone who has helped get this back to football, first and always. Cheers, guys. WLW
. I agree, it wasn't a penalty. But I would've been pretty pissed off had we not won that because I felt we deserved it a lot more!
Nice message Willy. Very appropriate. Thanks for that. Have to say that whilst we mods did agree an approach to keep things respectable, the line was effectively policed by SW6 on this occasion. He did so well in making his presence felt early on, so big-up to him this time! As for us, we couldn't do much to control things on this side as the main exchange came via the cross-board thread started on the Chelsea board. At the end of the day it was great to see Rangers and Chelsea fans (originally all good west London boys) finally hanging our bovver boots up and getting down to chatting shop as not606 users. Shame the game failed to entertain any of us in the way it could and maybe should have. Oh well, next time eh? Least we'll have better players by then and more chance of competing. Anyway, all square atm - one penalty each and both resulting from obvious dives! Cheating ****ers, the lot of us!!
Thanks, Willy. Brix and I operate a "no-intervention unless absolutely necessary" policy on our board. The fact that there was nothing to take exception to, says everything about the quality and maturity of Not606 members of both clubs. It's the members that deserve the credit..
but , as much as i dont want to admit it , chelsea deserved to win that match , but what a great dive by sturridge , even chelsea fans say it werent a penalty . roll on the bridge game . we just might have a better side , and give the blues a better test .
Willy- Congratulations on a 1st class message. I'm sure all true supporters of both clubs will applaud your post . Most sensible Chelsea fans will agree that the ref got the winning penalty wrong, but he failed to award another that should have been given for Sturridge as well later in the game.
So do Chelsea! Oops, my apologies. Out of keeping with the tone of the thread, I know - but just couldn't resist!!
I dunno I'm quite a fan of Mr Barton and his tweets, his trouble is he doesn't let anyone else have an opinion!
