I think that it is crazy to carry on with these transfer talks with Pompey! The simple fact is that the players do not want to leave Portsmouth as they have grown up at the club and obviously love it there. If we come along and rip them away then surely they won't give the desire, hunger and commitment to us in the same way. We should have moved on after the first bid was rejected and this will all end in tears if we try and sign these players against their will! MOVE ON JEWELL

Spanish I kind of understand where your coming from in terms of not sacking Jewell now but if we continue with this relegation form I cant see any other alternative. If we get stuffed on Tuesday night he must be sacked Wednesday morning and nothing else will really do!

We got him for £500,000 but that included a 50% sell on clause, so his real value was £1million. He has improved greatly & now has Championship experience so you're looking at £2million at least for him. Joel Ward has plenty of experience in the champ & even a little PL experience. He's got his best years ahead of him, so £1-£1.5million for his is fair. Similar thing with Henderson. Either stump up £5 million or give us 3 players that will actually be of use. If not, look elsewhere, because selling players & getting relegated makes absolutely no business sense.
and here in lies your problem pompey fans. your club has been screwed too many times to mention, its been run badly by numerous people. a players value is irrelevant in your situation. you can't ask ipswich to pay silly money for a player or three when if you don't sell them you go to the wall. of course it isn't what you want to hear and the morality of what ipswich are doing is bordering somewhere between nasty and cheeky (though they too have been in the same situation where they had to sell all their players for peanuts) but it is irrelevant to pompey. they have to sell or go bust. which would you rather?
