Thinking about it, in the past 5 years or so do we have a worse record at any other away ground bar the big teams? I can't recall too many victories there.

Going to be a tougher match now that Balckburn have managed to get a bit more confidence after a bad run of results.

Not our best away venue by any means but I reckon the players will be geed up for this after the cup defeat and we can come away with the 3 points.

Be great if Ba plays but not sure if Cisse will feature as he's had little to no time to train with the squad.

We also had a terrible record against them at SJP too, I think? We stopped that, at least :)

Jesus that is shocking. I remember the 3-0 quite well, that was at the time when we all hoped the Shearer and Owen partnership would blossom, and that Owen would become a real striking force for us....

Yea things really were looking up after that game... Shame it didn't last.

Shearer's free kick would have killed the goalkeeper if he would have gotten to it.

Yakubu being out is a massive plus, they look pretty toothless without his presence. Hoilett (who I'm assuming will play) will still be a big danger though. Really hope Santon plays like he did against Man Utd and not like he did against Fulham!

We need either Ba or Cisse, or preferably both.

If not, we'll be just as toothless up front as Blackburn, if not moreso. Shola hasn't scored in 16 appearances and it doesn't look like it's gonna happen anytime soon. Best isn't exactly prolific either.

I reckon the teams will be:

    BLACKBURN

    Robinson

    Lowe - Hanley - Givet - Olsson

    Dunn - N'Zonzi - Pedersen

    Hoilett - Goodwillie - Vuckevic

    NEWCASTLE

    Krul

    Simpson - Williamson - Coloccini - Santon

Ben Arfa - Guthrie - Cabaye - Jonas

    Ameobi - Best

Think it will be a draw, but if Ba is on the bench then maybe we can nick a win. Don't think Shola and Best have what it takes to do anything, ever.

The difference between Best and Shola and Ba and Cisse is so massive. It's the difference between a largely average team and a very dangerous one.

Totally agree. With the Demba's up top we could win 4-0 tomorrow, without we probably won't score...

That's the worry. The weird thing with Shola and Best is that if their positive aspects (there are a few i'm sure) were combined they may make a half decent player. Best has a decent work ethic and seems to find himself in some good positions, however lacks the composure and technique required to finish enough of the chances he receives, whereas I honestly believe Shola isn't that bad a finisher, he's just never in a position to score due to him being a bloody lazy bastard!
