Good. I liked what i saw of him and he needs a little bit of time. FFS, a week ago we had just won @ Reading which is far more important. Ok we lost a poor game (with squad players) in the cup saturday But now the focus can be on the league now. Far to much has been made about saturday. No signing is a guarantee and we as fans must trust in NB. He knows what he is doing. Fixture pile ups for Southampton - Middlesboro and Birmingham could well hinder them all. May all 3 go alot further in the cup.
That's not the same as chances. I've seen us his a ton of shots on target from distance, I wouldn't count them as chances. I've seen most games this season. West Ham and Blackpool are examples of games when we wasted a load of chances. There haven't been any others like that. There have been games were we've taken practically every chance we've had. Reading and Derby away for instance.
I've no problem with King, he's not match fit and did show glimpses of being a dangerous player on Saturday, I'm just being greedy and I'd like to see us have someone in the squad that's already proven at this level(not only because we're not scoring enough goals, but because it would take the pressure off the other strikers and could have a positive knock on effect).
If McShane goes on an emergency loan, I'd imagine they'll be able to call him back. Otherwise we could use Evans at Rb in an emergency or Chester with Cooper slotting in. The loan window is open shortly though so clubs have options.
afternoon, all, cardiff fan here, whats your feeling on your season so far, surprising move IMO to bring in barmby but young managers can sometimes prove to be inspired choices, as we have seen with our very own malky mackay, and others like speed, rogers, lambert..
Think the feeling was that we've got a young squad punching above it's weight and that there was no sense rocking the boat. Overall we're doing as well as anyone dared dream. We're getting greedy now! How about Cardiff? I thought you might struggle but you've brought in some good players. The Scots seem to be doing particularly well. Like us, you don't seem to have a lot of strength in depth. Fair?
You can't recall them within the first 28 days. By the time we can recall him from Palace we won't be playing any games, and if he then joins someone else we're back at the 28 days mark again. I also have doubts about Evans playing right back. When Rosenior went off we went with a back four of Dawson, Chester, Hobbs, Dudgeon and left Evans at DM. I'm sure I've seen Dudgeon come on at DM before, so why stick the left footer on the right side if Evans is a suitable candidate to play there?
Yeah, we're knackered if Rosie is injured immediately. We'd be pretty unlucky in that scenario though! I can't answer that because I've never seen Evans play right-back, just heard that he has. There's nothing wrong with a wrong footed full-back, just ask Denis Irwin! I guess at the time NB would rather have kept Evans in midfield and disrupted as little as possible. Regardless, we're light at the back, we're going to need some luck.
Regardless of Brighton on Tv or not (likely they will be on playing a ratings winning team in Liverpool) would just change the day from the Tuesday to the Wednesday... Otherwise I like this suggestion.
very. due to lack of funds or whatever, the squad is very thin. bids have been rejected for much needed widemen in noone of brighton and phillips of blackpool. some players like cowie seem to have played every game this season and i fear that eventually the lack of rests will catch up on us. up front as well we dont have good enough quality to replace miller if he gets injured. the malaysian owners put up the money if the manager can get the right players at the right price but they havnt been able to tie up any big signings this window (apart from the wycombe kis), though it must be said no clubs in this league have been very active
How many times have we come away from a game saying things like "14 shots to their 2, but we lost 2-0." Nearly every time we've lost this season that's been the case. Even Crawley, possibly our ****test performance of the season, we had the Brady and Cairney shots which forced very good saves, McLean's almost 1-on-1 thing, Garcia's one in the box that took another great save to keep out and the shot that was blocked in the area by a defender's midriff, that's 5 good chances in our worst game of the season. It's regularly in double figures and we often fail to score despite that. There can't be a worse team than us for goals per shot, it's almost impossible. That's a weird example, they hardly touched the ball in the entire second half, it was one massive City attack which is incredible given that we were winning 2-0 away from home. If that counts as a game we didn't create chances in, that sort of shows how much many shots we've become used to missing per game. Sounds exactly the same as us.
We dominated the game completely but we didn't make a load of chances in the box. We rarely do. You mention Crawley and apart from the Garcia poke and the blocked one at the end, all the efforts on goal came from around the edge of the box. if you talk about strikers missing chances you shoudl be talking about the ones Fryatt missed against West Ham and Blackpool and McLean missed at Brighton. We don't miss a load like that because we don't make enough. We don't put enough crosses into the box for a start.
Or a Friday night. it depends which ESPN choose and Obviously if ESPN get this game. It is probable ITV may want it since its Liverpool. ESPN showed spurs on the Friday in the last round but had arsenal on the Monday in the 3rd round... Its down to which ESPN want and then if the clubs involved agree.
You could start with holding Saints to a draw tuesday night and that should leave us just 3 points off 2nd place. I wonder If M.M. will go with 3 centre halves in this game assuming that hudson is fit ? Looking forward to the game as it could be Top match come the 13th March. Good luck tomorrow @ Southampton. Barmby will do well Just that we have some fans who knee jerk over every result. Especially when we lose.
