He is a great player but I fear that he won't keep up with the pace of the game considering the position we are in
rovers confirming bid accepted http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12691/7466165/Rovers-confirm-Sharp-deal cannot believe this one has come back around..... hats off to nige and Nic for pulling this off it seems!
For a good two or three hours, maximum. Have to be impressed with the job he has done; for all the complaints that he has too tight a grip on the purse strings, he's proven that you can bring in quality players without massive fees, if you know where to look and are willing to be a bit patient. If the Sharp deal goes through, we definitely have the talent to compete for promotion, and we're still in fantastic financial shape.
I couldn't get on nicolas back, doubt he could lift me. I'm 6ft4 and weigh about 15 stone . Joke aside no one can have a go at The Don.
He may not be everyone's cup of tea, but he will do the best for Southampton FC and who can say fairer than that? Lest we forget this is a man who is spurred on to forsee his friends legacy - so those who doubt him should remind themselves of his motivation. I think he can only be good for us, there may be bumps in the road but it happens at all clubs, its the people at the top who steer the ship who make the solid decisions.
On the Cortese question, can anyone really point to anything he has said or done that has been inconsistent or not in Saints best long term interests? the man has a plan and is sticking to it - The Premiership within 5 years and financially self sufficient. From where I'm sitting he has stuck to it, and is ahead of schedule. People, including me were shocked when pardew left, but seeing the booze culture he has allowed to continue at newcastle, and the huge difference that Sir Nigel has made here at SMS would anyone say Cortese was wrong? Thought not. We are very lucky to have them both - sit back and enjoy the bus ride.
The man is very impressive. I will post some of the stuff from last week later, but to listen to the man talk makes you dribble!
Not as Saints have made a bid, but as we should do. He is the kind of midfielder we need. Tough tackling, good at passing and has scored 9 this season.
