It would seem they've put in an official bid, would really like him here at NUFC.

But i feel were in more need of CB.

Bolton have made an offer for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.

Trotters boss Owen Coyle confirmed a bid for the 19-year-old had been lodged with the Championship side, but added that the two clubs were not in agreement over the player's valuation.

"I don't think it is to the value that the Crystal Palace chairman (Steve Parish) wants," said Coyle.

"But it is an offer we felt was fair for where a very talented young player is at the moment."

Zaha has scored five goals in 32 appearances so far this season, attracting the attention of Bolton's Premier League rivals Newcastle and Liverpool.

Only last month he signed a new five-and-a-half-year deal with the club.

"I always put what I think is a fair value on a player and if we get to it, great," added Coyle.

"He is such a talented young player and he will get better - there is scope for improvement. He has got pace and unbelievable quality and natural attributes.

"But at the moment it looks as if we are a way apart in terms of valuation."

Maybe we could do a deal, involving maybe Ranger or somthing along those lines if we don't have much cash.

    :)

The Palace chairman reckons he's worth loads more: 'If I bid £1m for a house worth £30m, even if I want it, it'll be rejected.' <doh> muppet.

Do you reckon we'll sign Mariappa (spelling?).
Or do you think we'll just leave our squad how it is? :D

One of the most coveted players in the championship compared to a player who struggles to get into Brighton first team? Are you sure?

As if we'd spend £5m on him when we only spend £4m on Cabaye and £3m on Tiote.

We aren't going to get ripped off by clubs anymore, especially not when we don't even really need a winger.

I'd like him here, but would prefer a CB.

Wasn't there some Palace fan on here months ago saying how a team like Newcastle would have no chance and one of the 'big boys' would have to fork out over 15m for him? Wish he was around for this thread.

In fairness, they were exceptional bargains rather than the norm. I doubt we'll see too many of that quality at those prices (prove me wrong, Carr!)

Was it not the Palace manager who said that? Felt that Zaha was better than us.

To be fair Zaha would be stupid to join Bolton anyway, Palace have a good young squad and will improve, Bolton are going in the opposite direction.

Those 2 players are extremely rare like you said.
I wouldn't like to imagine how much they are worth now.

Nice haggling skills there Owen. <doh>

Here's my offer but if you want more, fair enough.

Or it could be a case of him pointing out that the deal isn't going to happen, because of Owen Coyle asking too much. The haggling and true business will not be done through the media, this is probably a poor attempt at pressure.

    Just a thought

Maybe we could agree a deal that included him staying with them on loan unitl the end of the season, might edge our bid if they don't want to lose him.

Would give him more experience as well at 19.
