Nonsense, United won the league because the rest were even poorer, City were still in transition at the start of the season and Chelsea were/are continuing their decline. That and combination of incredibly fortuitous last minute goals some in the 6th minute of imaginary extra time.

I'd rather send out Modric with a patched up knock than Carroll.

I do see your point, I just don't see good enough personnel to do it, unless abolutely necessary. Here's my example, lets replace VdV, Ade and Lennon, with Niko, Pav, and Gio. You now have some exciting possibilities going forward, i'm not debating that...they now lose the ball...now my point of debate. One quarter of our team does not want to run about chasing and tracking back...25%! This is where we come unstuck, and what I mean about most of our replacements all round game not being good enough. VdV may well be lacking pace, but you look at his mtrs run per game, Oppsite MFers do get by him and leave him for dead down the touchline, but he doesn't give up, if they get held up by Walker and have to check back (quite often!:)), VdV's there...none of the others would be.

Are you starting to see where I'm coming from now? :)

I can't be bothered with you anymore. Your ridiculous team lost any credibility you may once have had with me. I 've expleined before I'll wait nearer the time before suggesting a team, lest I look as foolish as you and select someone like Carroll, who won't even be available for selection.

But I'll give you a rough guide, something like the team that plays tomorrow, mixed with the team that played at Watford.

No Carroll, no Coulibaly, no Pienaar, highly unlikely to be Bassong at LB, there's an indication.

I understand about rest BTW, have you seen the fixture list for February? I doubt you checked it before you came on with your stupid comments. I don't know why I've bothered with you on this board as long as I have, but no more, continue with your views, you won't find me contradicting them.

Well said NSS, HBIC hasn't a clue about team selection, and he has the nerve to give Harry advice, with the use of some choice language to boot.

As we know Harry isn't into the internet, but I'm sure he'd either be laughing at such a stupid team, or shaking his head and thinking, HB must be one of those people who phone up and have a go at me on Talk Sport.

Incidentally, we lost at Stoke with Carroll in the team, not I'm blaming him for that. I never saw the game, few people did as it wasn't on TV. Furthermore, at that stage we were in Europe and did have a taxing schedule No pun intended :), especially with so many players on international duty at the time.

This is not the case now, plus Stevenage will be on TV, it will be far, far higher profile than the Stoke game. Whereas losing to Stoke wasn't too big a blow, and barely registered in the national media and other fans' psyches, losing this one would be a major, major, story.

HBIC doesn't understand the importance of this game, and picked a stupid team, almost certainly didn't realise how few games we have in February, and in short continues to defend the indefnsible.

You really are a piece of work. You do realise that you are talking to fellow lillywhites? Here's a thought, keep your "stupid" accusations to Gooners and Chavs?

  7. I watched the video showing the reaction of the Stevenage fans, and I felt such pity for them all. Pity that all that joy is going to be crushed under the unbearable weight of disappointment.

They won't be disappointed if they lose though, HIAG. They're expecting it.
Just playing us is a massive result for them.

As for the team argument, it's clear that we need to rotate the squad more than we have been and it's obvious that some players are a bit jaded.
We're also risking alienating our squad players and we face drafting in players with no sharpness and a total lack of match fitness if they're needed.
We can't play our best XI every week. It worked in the past, when the game was a lot slower, but it doesn't work now.
Anyone who disagrees should tell Ferguson.

luckily it won't happen because Harry has more sense.

    --------------

Yeh, because sensible harry would never f*** up a cup game, especially say, one at home against your biggest rivals!

Bently on the left, pletikosa and Sandro stright in for their first games! <doh>

That one still annoys me Spursguru, though Pletikosa didn't do much wrong, if I remember right.
Never played for us again, though.

I felt for him that game, did absolutley nothing wrong.... although Sandro was also subjected to a torrent of abuse for that game as well along the lines of not being able to pass, and having no pace.

A few of the more distinguished members of 606 even went out on a limb and said he was never going to make it for us. hmmmmm <erm> I stuck up for him, saying I thought he was one of our better players, certainly more promise than bently or Jenas imo.

I thought that Sandro grew into the game, though he certainly wasn't helped by the team selection.
I also stuck up for Bentley. He was played out of position down the left, yet he was always available and trying his best.
Didn't have a good game, admittedly, but it wasn't through a lack of effort.

Hence two straight comments where you consider to bitch and moan about a team selection, when you STILL have not posted a team you think would be good enough to win the game despite my repeated suggestion that you probably should in order to look like anything but a WUM.

He was available for selection when I made the post, so there is no reason to make anything of him being loaned to Derby after I posted it. If I could see into the future, I'd have won the Euromillions by now and told you the exact squad we'd pick, the substitutions, and the final score. Oh, and told you to button it before you posted a single response to my post.

I won't have to read bullshit like this from you anymore? Damn shame...

As I said (three or four times) the reason Gio and Pav aren't in my team is the expectation of them being sold tomorrow - after the Cheltenham game 'Arry said Gio would still likely be sold this month, and the fact he wasn't even on the bench against Watford says as much.

As for Carroll, he was certainly willing to put in a shift when called upon against Stoke (where we drew 0-0, which isn't a loss in anyone but an uppity WUM's language) and in the Europa, but since my post he's joined Derby so it's a moot point.

As I said already too Hbic, my names were just an example, tbh I didn't read your team, its not relevant to my point which is abit lost in your war of words with someone else ( and that I'd prefer to keep out of!). Pick any other if you like, I'll soon give you a very good reason why he shouldn't start, but I know you're astute enough to not need to.

As it stands, our first 11 have half a season of PL games and 4 FACup matches (6 at most with replays, if we make the final), no Euro games, no extra foreign travel, hardly that taxing for a professional player. A 3rd game in a week, and I'll agree with you, but that only happened over Xmas...and we did quite well over that, best in the league I think.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it! :emoticon-0105-wink:

I repeat my view that Harry will more sense than to pick such a ridiculous team as HB suggested.

In fact, I've already been proved right because Carroll has gone to Derby <doh>

His team is safely stored in my quotes, and Harry has more sense than to pick a team like that. I look forward with relish to see just how wrong HB's team turns out to be.

I can't remember the schedule we had when Harry picked his team v Arsenal, but my guess is that the game was between two weekend games, so you're not commenting on comparable situations SG.

I'll check the schedule in a minute.

EDIT - Yep the game was between two weekend Prem fixtures as I thought, and we had CL games going on at the time as well. So your comparison is inaccurate SG and unfair to Harry <doh>

Harry rightly saw the Prem and CL as the priorities, and if you don't understand that, then I'm afraid once again I'm glad it's Harry managing us and not you.

Anyway, we'll see what type of team trots out v Stevenage, and who's right about Harry's selections <ok>

There's ways to prove you can;t be bothered with someone anymore. Your method is not the way to do it.

Also, and I can't stress this enough, why haven't you named a team you think is better, despite my asking?

Luke you generally speak a lot of sense!
I unlike some spurs fans on here appreciate your comments. I think it's good to have an outside view on things as fans tend to be very reactive when talking about their own club.
