You appear to have confused the concept of having enough quality to beat a team and actually beating them.

Or do you now think Liverpool don't have enough quality to beat Fulham?

Let's be honest here playing Man Utd is a cup final for Liverpool, they were always going to raise their game and with the injury problems United had going into this game, the gulf in quality between the two sides yesterday was minimal

If you took a couple of key players out, probably not, same as utd.

Well rooney and nani were playing then but they weren't in the game we are talking about, you know the game yesterday when liverpool knocked manu out of the FA cup because utd were not good enough.

What purpose is served by this autopsy? Do all the "ifs" and "buts" make Utd fans feel better about the defeat, as though it was in some way unfair? This is football, often a team can dominate from beginning to end and get suckered due to a moment's lapse, or a flash of brilliance by the other side- or plain bad luck.
This was nowhere near that one-sided and the result certainly no travesty.
How difficult can it be to just accept that it was a fairly even game where you dominated possession but did little with it, and ended up on the losing side?

Yes we were extremely lucky that Ferguson spunked almost half of his transfer budget on Taibi's younger brother.

I agree saint. Ferguson lost the strategy battle. Playing Carra in that holding role took away from our ability to counter but kept the game tight and Utd had to play in front of us. After the City game we did not have the offensive personnel to play for 90 mins. KK/SC were always going to make the change at some point after the hour. Ferguson had the option (at least he thought he did) of keeping his offensive changes until he sensed that they could be crucial or leaving them on the bench and taking the draw. However, the double change threw that plan out of the window and he was forced to mirror our change. Unfortunately, the tide had already changed and his forwards became even more isolated.

BOTH sides were below full strength for differing reasons. So you are forced to 'play with what you got'.
