Is that a big loss, I guess it significantly reduces the wage bill, perhaps you should ask for Sordell in return?!
Well you know what it's like when a legend leaves. Appleton is a good manager but he has no plans for any of the more experienced players - I'm always surprised when Rocha starts. It looks as though those who aren't in his plans are trying to get off the wage roll, perhaps it's their way of helping? Herman took himself off to Coventry neither of them are the more expensive players though. But as the saying goes, every little helps. Don't know if he'll be back, he signed a 3 year contract that included an eventual coaching role.
Agree with 3rd Eye, Kanu may want to leave as he feels he has no playing future at Portsmouth. Anyone know what the role he has been offered after he retires from playing is ??
I asked Jordan Cross (from the News) on one of his live match webchats, they often get to hear more than they report, and he replied that he didn't see Kanu in a coaching role in the future. Damn shame, he needs to teach some of his skills to the younger ones.
Well good luck to you. I know it is a shame when loyal or popular players leave but the club must come first and it is much better for a player to leave on a high than a low. However, having said that I think Kanu was a tremendous player and I hope you keep him, but please don't let him score against us, although do you think his appearance bonuses may limit his selection?
If this takes him off the payroll then let it be. He clearly doesn't appear to be part of Apple's plans
Kanu is "only" on £10,000 p.w., not a fortune when compared to the kind of money we pay Ben Haim, or even Lawrence & Kitson - these are the kind of players we should be selling/offloading.
Employers are forbidden by law to force some-one to retire because of their age now, so Kanu needn't worry
