Not bothered comes to mind. I don't think any City players turned up today. Think Nicky should have them in tomorrow to show them the video of their total lack of footballing ability
Jobbo 4 of those 5 in your first para have played for us in the premier league and with oli that's 5 out there at some stage who've got prem experience. We should have been good enough but played into their hands. We should have played it on the floor much more but I agree with other posters we have no goal threat at all. I've have given Simpson a run out, he looked bright against Ipswich
For once I totally agree with Swanny. Crawley where all over us like a rash from the first whistle to the last.
Why do people have a pop at Swanny all the time ? he tells it as it is. I don`t like people being negative over city but he says what he thinks and the fans cannot accept that in my opinion he is truthfull to the point that it hurts.
Shaun, on the next televised game have the Humberside commentary on and you'll see what people mean. They don't very often reflect the game.
I think you'll find it interesting. It irritates me because I can appreciate it's the only way some people can get a feel for what's going on, yet their version often conflicts with other match reports, but like people at seances, listeners match the bits they think they heard with the post match reports and some people post match reports without mentioning it's based on radio commentary. This makes it look like the commentators were right. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure some there will genuinely feel the team never tried. I personally think they tried but didn't succeed, but it wasn't the blood and thunder commitment of a McShane.
Hearing the game on the radio really does my head in . but what can you do when there is no streams. heres hoping we are prem next season
The lack of respect for people's reliance that frustrates me. If they pump out negativity and mask it as realism it spreads.
What a FAC up! I have no problem with Nick trying out a few of the subs and reserves in these games, but to leave 7 regular first teamers out of the starting line-up merely proved that there was no interest in getting any further in the competition. He said before the game that he'd had Crawley watched several times and was aware what a threat they would pose. In that case he should have put out a much stronger team, what was most disappointing was the fact that those second streamers given their chance today should have been chomping at the bit to prove themselves...to my mind none of them did that. I really don't know why I bother turning out for every Cup game, it's always the same scenario and I end up trudging home despondent! Well done Crawley, you deserved your win and I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of you in the coming seasons.
Swan is an utter idiot when he's alone, and when he's joined by Burns he's a ****. They are useless and shouldn't be doing commentary.
The team that NB played should have been good enough to win the game. But Crawley wanted it more overall so credit where credit is due. Tuesday and 3 points is far more important. UTT
Thinking back on the match maybe I was a bit harsh on here regarding Cooper afterwards but I suppose when you have two great centre-backs like Hobbs and Chester it overshadows the fringe players, he probably needs a run in the team before I say he's not good enough but i thought he didn't have much presence today at all, but then neither did quite a few others.
I think the reason we played so poorly today was that "The Team" was brand new and unused to performing. That might also be said for the Ipswich game but from what I saw Crawley were far superior to Ipswich. I also think Nick's substitutions were baffling. Why would anyone bring Cullen on instead of Simpson? All I can think was that Nick genuinely didn't care about the result and once and for all wanted to convince himself Cullen wasn't going to be good enough...........job done! Did Brady have concussion or something because he, despite being frustrating to us was still attracting at least two defenders all the time which should have enabled us to utilize more space elsewhere. But we didn't! Thought Oilyvagina looked good when he came on and King was tiring badly. To be honest although I yearn for a really good cup run, I'm not really too upset about this as it was very much a second string team........BUT I will be really pissed off if we now fail to beat Donny on Tuesday as that was surely at the head of Nick's thinking.
Shaun,Swann is an idiot. His job is to be an expert on football. He is not.He reminds me of so many City fans i know, who change thier view on the team or individual players, game in game out, depending on the result. That is just not good enough for a professional football writer. I am certain his hdm columns are negative or positive, solely depending on his mood. Im going back a bit i know, but how is this for a quote,"I dont rate Stuart Elliot,i mean what does he bring to the team apart from goals". Do you need any more proof of a ****ing thick donkey of an ex-footballer ?
But when I said that a week or so ago, particularly about the need for defensive cover it was like pissing into the wind. I'm only being picky because the team named was too strong for my liking. Carson should have been given a game, we should have already brought in another centreback to have replaced Hobbs/been our cover for the season (Cooper not reliable for a run of games), when McShane left we should have been looking for another right back, Evans should have been rested with Oli starting (I'll concede that if he's not ready for 60+ minutes), Fryatt should have been dropped for us to look at Simpson, and if there was anybody left somebody else should have played in place of Brady.
Totally agree. I said myself the other week, if we get a couple of injuries in defence we are ****ed. Not many on here seem to recognise this and it doesn't seem to worry Barmby either. When he talked about cover at right back, he said we had East, Dudge and Garcia. So thats an unproven reserve who doesn't look up to it, or two players that would be played well out of position. You only do that when you are swimming in the deepest of ****. Plus most people would say you need four first team centre backs in the squad.
