Can there be anything worse than a Leeds fan living in Wales*? Maybe a Leeds fan living in 1p5wich**? *disclaimer* That may not be the opinion of all Norwich City fans before everyone gets slated. **disclaimer** I couldn't give a toss who that offends.
lol how about an Ipswich fan living in Norwich now? The ones I work with get an AMAZING ammount of stick from me atm.
Clarkey, you're right we are a small club, and we're enjoying football more than you at the moment. I understand your pain, especially when you think your club is the best in the world, get realistic
£750k initial fee. £2m after Premier League appearances/goals/international caps/European qualification. Basically, £750k rising to maybe £1.2m in about 2016.
Not seen it mentioned. Shaun 'I've put loads of clubs into admin' Harvey is our main man on the negotiating front, and he's hardly a smooth operator, so I doubt he's even heard of sell-on clauses.
Why the ****in hell would aliens want to invade this planet when they read this thread. Start off with a simple statement and it ends up with a my cocks bigger than yours battle. We're doing bloody well thank you and Leeds aren't doing too bad either considering they have lost so many good players. Leeds is bigger than Norwich and they have a better history trophy wise. Apart from that at the moment we have the ability to take players from them because of our league status. We have a genuine majority shareholder, Leeds have one who in 1984 thought Leeds should be kicked out of the league along with their supporters and used to sing Blue is the Colour. We had a ****ty attitude 4 years ago but we've got over it. I wish Leeds well in their rehab.
The time will come, every supporter has a breaking point and KB is the kind of guy who will push the boundaries as far as he can, eventually something will give and the momentum you need to drive him out will be handed to you on a plate
To be fair for a player with 8 games left on his contract,£2million is good money.£250,000 a game. But Norwich weren't ripped off,as unlikely he would have signed for you in the summer and he would have demanded a bigger wage.
The one thing ken won't do,is overestimate the fee.under yes over no.if ken says 2mill sure thats what he will get.
Yes he would overstate the fee. It means he can persuade more people that we got a good price for Howson. By stating the entire fee after add-ons and all the rest, he makes people think the initial fee was 2m, not 750k. That's the way his propaganda works. And it suits him just fine.
Don't agree Im afraid,Think the only add on will be games played, not any Europe thing. To be honest this is as good as its probably ever going to get for them.
Why? Admittedly, a sustained push to the top 6 would require major 'rich arab' style investment, but out of the others there is no reason we cant aim and succeed in being the best. Once that is attained then who knows. To be totally honest, other than the 'big 6' the prem is full of some really quite ordinary sides. Sides who are very beatable and certainly not our betters. If Leeds get promoted, I really don't see them going anywhere near the top 6 without finding a mega rich benifactor. In my book that puts you in the same boat as us. The one thing we have done though is get into the prem. You need to do that before you can make it any further.
The thing people seem unable to grasp is that in football EVERYONES current league status is temporary. eventually things will get better for Leeds and then even further into the future it will all go tits up again. Eventually even Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and Man City will fall on hard times and get relegated. This may very well not be in any of our lifetimes, but it will happen. It is a constantly changing beast. In the 20's or 30's who would have thought that teams like Blackpool or Preston would have spent time in the bottom tier? In the 80's, did anyone really see an end to Liverpools dominance? In the 70's it was Leeds' turn, did anyone ever picture them playing 3rd tier football?
Really? Never won anything? That's funny because I was at Carrow Road today and was looking at the Trophy cabinet which is pretty full, ok historically speaking BUT hardly nothing, especially when you consider that 75% of trophies were destroyed in the 80's fire
