Traore as left winger is a must. He's the only R with consistent quality crossing ability. Personally not as disappointed with SWP as most who've commented of late. Not been getting the rub of the green though and never was the best crosser. Great dribbler and draws defenders around him. If only he'd be doing this with the intention of releasing the ball to someone in a better position. It really worked well for Shaun (and therefore us) when Taarabt was finding him with those long diagonal passes in the early days. All this stopped when we brought him centre and left. Needs to play on the right. Either SWP or Mackie - never both.
How about giving him some support and seeing what happens under MH and with new and improved team mates?
This Just needs the rub of the green thats all. Brilliant against Newcastle, only a goal line clearence away from his first goal. Hit the post with a great shot away against Wolves, another game he was brilliant in. Scored goal of the season at HQ against WBA only to be wrongly flagged for offside. He always seem to be playing his best football with Adel in the side. Give Hughes some games to get the team playing his way and I'm sure SWP will perform better. But those who says he needs to play RM are spot on, Mackie needs to sit some games on the bench as soon as Traore and Adel comes back.
I think we're nearly all agreed that Traore should play left midfield Brix. But I'm not convinced that MH will play him there. Hope he does!!
If Pienaar and/ or Moses come off I worry for Armand as I can't see where he fits in. Would be a shame as, going forward, I have really enjoyed seeing him play this year. And defensively he did have Walcott in his pocket at the Emirates. As for SWP, as I have said several times before, he has always played like this - runs hard, never fully in control of the ball, lots of blind alleys, and a couple of times a season scores a blinding goal. So he is exactly meeting my expectations, to the extent that i can't criticise him, but he is not going to get any better. In his favour he never gives up, is not petulant and is, for today at least, still probably in our best eleven. May well change after Tuesday deadline......
If he was horse, you'd sell him for glue. Pretty awful this year, needs to be moved on in the summer in my opinion. The prem is just too high a league for him now
Excellent summation - and he should have had that wonder goal, if it had not been disallowed with that wrong offside decision. Not sure if there is a "rub of the green" in him. Could always join his brother at Charlton and help them secure promotion to the Championship?
I can see in my crystal ball that the price for shares in Humble Pie on the Nasdaq index is about to skyrocket!
cannot see MH getting rid at the moment. I just think that with even more new players arriving SWP will have to raise his game, and hopefully he will respond in the right way. I think we are a club that requires a "pre season" togel and work out formations / tactics and workout how to change things when the oppontentas have stopped us playing. SWP is a confidence player and when AT returns we may just start to see little ole SWP perform.
All SWPs good games have been on the right from where he likes to also run cross the front line SWP on the right Traore left mid Buz & Barton in the middle when we get any better players swap them into these positions but keep the rest the same DJ behind Heider - DJ needs a run of games Taraabt left mid or in DJs position if we need to make changes we are currently humouring Jami Mackie who was surprisingly OK for his first 2 or 3 games back but since then has returned to his expected uselessness. while Jamie is warming the bench throw balls at him for 8 hours a day until he learns to cushion a ball and nudge it in the desired direction not move towards it with his knee and let it bounce 3 yards away. Also tell him that very few of "the greats" ever tried to trap it with their studs once he dones that teach him to look up at the same time and look for the early ball he could join a local under 7's team and do it with them!
I think a lot of the comments on here reflect a feeling of "I wish" unfortunately I dont think its going to happen 4 him no matter who arrives.
Right side, left side? Not good enough. It's not about speed or skill or desire, it's about all three. Very lucky player who has always under performed.
