No qualms about the result. We were the far inferior team and if we'd lost by two or three it wouldn't have been unjust. However, Mike Dean should be embarrassed for falling for the most blatant of dives. It was far less obvious a penalty than Helguson's who at least would have got to the ball if he hadn't got a shove.
An eminently forgettable match I'm sorry to say, we were pants and you didn't have to break sweat to win thanks to a dubious decision. Now this is what you call a real cup-tie from the days when players earned their money, just look at the crowd behind the goal, mind you the ref was a bit suspect!... I don't think QPR fans were throwing any objects apart from the silly fan who threw the ball at Cole when it went out for a throw. It was sort of harmless but silly and he might never come back to Loftus Road for that reason.
Thought the game was a huge anti climax. To much emphasis put on our so called rivalry and the JT /AF spat. Glad its over and basically agreed the game was more like a freindly.
Trust me you were nowhere near the best vocal away support we had at LR, that award goes to Man Utd I afraid and I take no pleasure in saying this. Both set of fans were poor yesterday, Nowhere near like it was in October! Maybe whoever you spoke on the tube might of been hard of hearing, I suggest they should turn their hearing aids down a bit next time.
Na na na na na!! Give it a rest will ya! Oh, and on the two penalties you mention. The shove on HH from that terrible defender Luiz was clear and obvious...a brainless challenge. Sturridge simply fell over when he felt Hil behind him!! Terrible decision and every single neutral observer agreed that it was never a penalty and clearly a dive.
You should read the original post before commenting. I said that it shouldn't have been a penalty... I understand you're a bit bitter but we deserved the win yesterday and not many of your lot are complaining.
No point going over this. Wasn't a pen in my view, but nor was HH's against us. Swings and roundabouts I guess. Onwards and upwards Aside from the fact it was an FA Cup game, it wasn't that important for either team in the context of things.
Luiz's was a stupid, rash challenge....Sturridge dived. You deserved to win yesterday, but all this talk about "swings and roundabouts" is bollocks. One was a penalty one was a dive...end of!
Completely subjective. In my opinion (because that's all it is) neither were pens but I could see why the ref would have interpreted them as pens but in the end things have a habit of evening themselves out. MK Dons were extremely unlucky to go out and costly ref decisions went against them. The same will probably happen to Chelsea in the latter stages. It's disappointing that the FA seem determined to hand every advantage possible to attackers at the expense of Goalkeepers and Defenders. I thought Clint Hill just stood his ground as Luiz did in October.
I think that the difference between the penalties was that Luiz barged into Helguson, where as Sturridge backed into Hill and then collapsed.
