Been into the BIOS and set it to boot from the recovery DVD. Inserted recovery DVD and says "windows is loading files" - so far so good. Then it goes to the normal startup screen (black screen with "microsoft corporation" and the little yellow bars flashing left to right) and just hangs up there. Never gets to the Windows "welcome" screen. Pressed F8 for advanced boot options, then selected safe mode, that starts by showing a listing of drivers being installed and then hangs up at disk.sys. Not sure if it is now booting from the hard drive or the recovery dvd though. Going to try going back into the BIOS and disabling the Hard Drive in boot options.

Right okay, time for some selections: 12.55 Leopardstown: PROTARAS 7/1 Whilst disappointing from a win perspective at Henry Cecil's yard, he ran in some good flat handicaps up to a mile and a half and strikes me as the sort to progress over hurdles. This is a maiden where we know the market leaders as being fairly, if not fully exposed. Good form behind horses rated as high as in the 90s on the flat such as PEKAN STAR, LEXINGTON BAY, MIDNIGHT OIL and so forth, and I suspect Noel Meade has a horse with a very solid engine on his hands. Interestingly, when he was 6L behind Pekan Star in that flat race, the 4th, LOCAL HERO, is a winner off 129 over hurdles and is now rated 140. I suspect any similar sort of form would give Protaras a really nice chance, if he is slick over his hurdles. 1.25 Leopardstown: BLACKSTAIRMOUNTAIN 7/4 Looks to have done very well over fences so far and is somewhere back to form- is classy at his best. I just fancy he might have the class to see off the very game (and also talented) Flemenstar. Thjink my selection might just have that bit of extra speed to take the race away from him. 3.05 MAKE YOUR MARK 2/1 (NAP) Looks a really exciting recruit, as does Boston Bob. If he is serious about the Neptune, he needs to be able to win receiving 10lb from Boston Bob here, which is a huge amount. I wouldn't mind if he quickened well clear of the field and then got outstayed though, as it might bring him into the Supreme Novice equation, which I think would suit a horse of his exuberance, (not to mention my small stakes 100/1 bet on him for that race ) Boston Bob has a huge reputation though, and an impressive win here will see him rivalling Fingal Bay for favouritism. 4.10 Leopardstown: CAITLIN BROOK 4/1 Solid start on bumper debut, beaten 7L by a decent Mullins recruit, and there doesnt look a lot else in the race. Normal improvement should see a bold bid. 4/1 is fair value.
Odddy YES I see Thomas Edison is a non runner over hurdles today - last minute change and send him back to bumpers I hope so
ODDY-----HAVE YOU TRIED "THE SHOVEL" OPION YET?? just read that the liverpool players had big aftergame party yesterday----music,drink ,party games. andy carroll----taken to hospital thru blood loss, caused by multiple wounds. dagleish has now banned the game "pin the donkey" from future parties.
Anyone watching the tennis? The top 4 in the world really are at some level of play at the moment. Awesome to watch. I backed Nadal about 30 mins ago in play at 6/1. I think he he could somehow edge this 4th set, the 5th set fitness edge might just help him. Great game though.
