Whatever wage he is on a week, he does not deserve it at all! He is so lazy!! He's 19/20 and I don't think he knows how to run or sprint because I only ever see him walking or jogging! It's ridiculous he should be full of energy and bossing the game, he's got great ability and technique but he's never going to do well if he can't run, tackle or head the ball! Very poor!
You obviously missed the 60 yard run in the first half then, when he passed to Brady who then fuked it up. He can pass and does. He can tackle and does. He won plenty of headers yesterday. The problem both Cairney and Evans had yesterday was they kept showing for the ball but the back four kept launching it over their heads. It made them look like two Sunday League players chasing the ball without getting near it.
One run in a season isn't good enough though! And he doesn't tackle, he fannies out all the time!! And same with headers, although today he did win a couple but altogether in the season so far again he just fannies out the challenges!
He;s barely played this season. Tackling is in his game now. It never used to be granted, but i believe Tom has taken this critisism on board. His first touch and passing game are premier league standard.
I honestly thought he should have had motm yesterday. Not because he did anything special, but because he was the only outfield player who looked capable of causing any sort of threat, and the only man who had the ability to control the ball, and whose first touch didn't take him 10 yards in the wrong direction. Dudgeon, Fryatt and Garcia were particularly woeful, East was terrible but I'll give the kid a break. Mannone made a few saves but was still very wobbly. I seem to be the only one that thinks Cairney (almost) looked a class apart.
Tom thinks he should be first name on the sheet every week - and I dont mean our team sheet but Barca's and Scotland's. And therein lies the problem. Expect him to be gone by this time next year.
Piss poor thread. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. He impressed Pearson so much in preseason. He was first choice until he was injured. He didnt get a chance until the Southampton game. Where he clearly did well and set up the goal. Dropped again after that. He plays against Ipswich, scores a great goal and gets dropped again. As others have said looked the only one with composure yesterday but others around him didnt have the ability to pass to him or Evans to start the attacks. Oh and the one peice of quality in the entire game was his curling left foot shot. But hey lets not the facts get in the way of your blind prejudice.
And where's this come from? I'm not keen on the lad off the pitch but that's a huge overstatement. Granted he's a little arrogant but he's hardly Balotelli.
How do people know what he's like off the pitch anyway ? And please don't tell me he's got a flashy car and wears designer clothes ffs he's 20 year old pro footballer !
I'm not saying he doesn't have great technique because he does! But he'll show a moment of class then do nothing else the whole game! He's just to lazy!
When you see him outside of football with his mates you will realise why people think he is a bit of a twat. He was poor yesterday IMO, and bar Ipswich this season i have seen very little end product bar the sidewise passing he likes to do. Yesterday he ducked out of tackles twice on my side (i sit in the west stand), and at times was running scared of Crawley. As was Evans mind you. Admittedly his work rate has improved on the pitch and i do not doubt he works harder than he did, hard enough? No, nowhere near enough, three or four times you could see him jogging back from corners when they where countering. Mckenna was missed yesterday as Evans and Cairney where both to similar, and both poor.
I met him once and was a bit torn really. I appreciated the honesty, his openness talking about the club and the fact that he was happy to have a random chat with me rather than hurrying off like most do (***an, McShane to name a couple). But he had a real air of self-importance which seems rare in the City squad, though I certainly didn't detest him. Even before that though, seeing clips on TigerPlayer, particularly the Slovenia camp pre-season made it clear that he's not the most modest of blokes.
I think he is lazy and also a crap player, Barmby should send him out on loan or sell him to a Conference team. As you saw yesterday, he wasn't even good enough to play in league 2 so he hasn't got a cat and hell's chance of playing for a Championship team! GET RID!! UTT!!
by that logic, we should sell all 14 that appeared yesterday. oh, and by the way, it's 'a cat in hell's chance'
No way is his touch and passing range premier class he is hugely over rated on here. He can pass side ways, backwards and every now again when he has all the time in the world he might switch play with a 30 yard pass and stroll off like hes Glenn Hoddle. He is constantly the worst trainer at the club which is piss poor for a 20 yr old. He s a passenger on the pitch for me I wouldnt even call him a luxury player because they have talent he dosnt please dont tell me he has great technique he dosnt he is slow in movement, In decision making and has no creativity what so ever. Bye Tom.
He's 21 and with his ability he really should be making more of a mark then he does, he was better against Ipswich. The Cairney/Evans partnership isn't a good one and just based on yesterday's performance, Oli should get picked ahead of either of them.
And the fact he was the only one to vocally celebrate his apporoval when Adam told the squad about Nigel leaving says a lot. edit - and not cos he disapproved of the manager's disloyalty, more because the manager was an idiot for not playing him every week.
In this case I think the lad had a fair point. His quote to me was 'He loves his new boys.' And it was true. Granted we needed to be rid of the high earners but he barely gave anyone a chance, he signed an entirely new team as soon as he could.
But that's ridiculous - of course he loved his new boys, he signed them! If he didn't play them the fans and indeed the owners could justifiably ask why he'd spent money when we were in the financial ****e! And to be fair to Pearson, who out of all the 'old boys' he dropped could justifably argue that they should be playing every week?
