He's probably the most natural finisher we've got. The goal in the 4-1 win against Peterborough, and the one in the 3-2 win against MK Dons, spring to mind.
I doubt it mate.It looks like 99% unlikely, but it might be one of those signings that happens at 12am...With a picture of Hooper in saints shirt. I wouldn't be surprised if we did sign him though.
When Barnard was in form he was almost as good as Lambert (IMO), his starts to goals ratio wasn't far off Lamberts as well if I remember correctly? I don't think people should be so quick to write him off...
Agree about the Peterborough goal, that was a moment of magic; but he was kind of lucky with the one vs MKD to be honest, go and watch it on Youtube - He hits it quite central and the goalkeeper really should of done better. He's got a hard shot, but a lot of them go over the bar and his actual goals are usually quite scrappy. I wouldn't want to have to rely on him to go and score the goals that'd get us promoted. By the way: We had an offer for Ricardo Vaz Te rejected by Barnsley earlier in the window according to the mirror, a long with Leicester and West Ham.. Thoughts? http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/tra...Te-on-a-free-in-the-summer-article858230.html
wow, possibly the best bit of indecision and fence sitting ever that.... I think. Well maybe. No it isn't. Or could be.
That Alan Nixon bloke said he found it hard to believe, and Vaz Te was not good enough to 'improve' SFC. However when asked if he expects us to sign a striker even after NA's cagey interview and Barney's return he said: "Yes. Juggling between a couple of options - or maybe more."
I agree Adam, but you have to admit that what you wrote, read quite funny. I laughed anyway. just having a gigle with you
In the grand scheme of things, probably not. For Doncaster news, yes as said by their fans, he is accurate which is why if any of this involves Sharp he would know.
According to SaintsWeb, the plan for Barnard is to go out on loan for a month to build up match fitness/confidence ready for the final run in in march/april - i think this is what lee needs as he is a good player, but as shown today is lacking in fitness and confidence
Here is the twist that Nixon talked about, Saints were pursuing Sharp but now this has happened: "Saints on red alert after Hooper's contract talks collapse" - http://www.people.co.uk/sport/footb...iker-contract-talks-collapse-102039-23724509/ He also says Collins to sign very soon, on loan.
Lennon may have made a mistake declaring our interest and saying how important Hooper is. Hooper probably went straight in after and said "If I am that important you can give me a new contract on this much" Will Saints now start to stir it up a bit and unsettle the player so he engineers his own move here. Maybe not this window but in the summer? Be good to have Collins in as cover for our first choice CB's.
He did say this morning that their would e big news in tomorrows The People! He clearly does know his stuff!
