Seems a shame this one......Better than most of the ****e we've been linked with, and at this rate QPR are trying to recruit more than the population of a small country. Queens Park Rangers hope to secure the services of the former Liverpool forward Djibril Cissé from Lazio in the next few days as they bolster their forward ranks before Tuesday's transfer deadline. The France international, who won the European Cup with the Anfield club in 2005 after joining for £14m from Auxerre, has endured a frustrating time in Rome since arriving from Panathinaikos last summer but would cost around £4m to secure on a permanent basis. Alternatively a loan deal may be struck for the 30-year-old, though the Italian club will let the forward leave only if they first find a replacement. Cissé, who has been capped 41 times and had a loan spell at Sunderland in the Premier League, has found his opportunities limited at Lazio with Miroslav Klose also at the club. He could be joined as part of Mark Hughes's recruitment spree by the Mali international midfielder Samba Diakité, who is close to completing a loan move from Nancy with QPR having an option to make the transfer permanent for around £3.5m in the summer.
If he does sign for them I think he will get a great reception fropm our fans when they visit our stadium.
Agreed but id be gutted if he goes to QPR, to me he is exactly what we need short term, and i would of thought he would be right up MON's street.
In my opinion he had a very good start to his Sunderland career but then seemed to lose his touch...I wouldn't complain if we signed him, but he wouldn't be that high on my shopping list.
