Most of the top players that have left us over the years have left because Arsenal had the best years out of them e.g. Henry,Viera
But according to you we don't have enough money make high bids for players? So whats it to be, Wenger chooses not to spend or we aren't rich enough?
I've never said that, I've said that we can't compete with City, Chelsea, Utd financially. The board have repeatedly said that they would sanction a £30m bid if Wenger thought it was right to do so, it seems that he did.
That's a well-known result of penny pinching, something of which our manager, tiresome CEO and board have made into a personal artform.
I totally agree with you in that it is a fact that he did not replace Fabregas with a similar style of player. Anything else is speculation.
"supposed bids" = speculation "didnt replace Fab" = fact "we also had the money to do it" = speculation
So, it's just the third point we do not agree on. I can assume that he spent the £55m as he did because he (the manager) felt he needed new players in those positions and that he could not get a Fabregas replacement at the time. I certainly couldn't make factual representations about his spending policy of last Summer though. Let's hope that this Summer will see the back of Pat Rice and the advent of a solid replacement. I've always felt that the new #2 could be the most important addition to our squad of all.
Arsene possesses a strong character so yes, a strong man who can stand up to him would be needed. Whether the man is able to accept other views is another matter. He would listed to Dein but how much would he take from a No 2?
