Shola can **** off!! - Thoughts on the game

Would you care to explain what that was? I must of blinked during that moment. All I saw him do was waste some good chances and get lost out wide. In fairness to him he's not a winger and it was daft to play him there but you can't say he was good and you can' say he was better than Shola because it' just not true.

 

I agree, he probably should have been higher but I thought giving him higher would have turned into a massive heated debate to I just kept him below a 6.

I said he was better than Willo and Simmo anyway.

He made some good runs, managed to push up the pitch and actually worked hard. He should have done better with his header, but that early chance he had on the turn, you can't be too critical towards him for that, it wasn't an easy chance.

7 was too high, but 6 IMO is a fair rating.

 

Is this a joke? Perch 5.5! and Best played well?! I'm going to scream.

 

I made a thread where people were all agreeing how good he was today, doubt you'll receive any heated debate about him being highly rated today

 

Perch was, but Shola wasn't, and as I've said 3 times already, anyone who thinks Shola was one of the better players today needs to stop snorting crack!

 

Its not 'normal service resumed' though, yes he was poor today, but that's not normal Willo

 

My first rating for him was going to be 6.5 but since he gets so much unfair stick, I thought that that one rating would have starting a ****ing flame war and take away attention from all the other points!

Shola should never play 90 minutes! Whether someone deems him a lazy player or not, he definitely fades as the game wears on and I can't believe Pardew never recognises how important it is he bring a sub on for him (when he does start him)

 

My ratings:

Krul 6- Nowt to do made a decent save and couldnt really help their goal.

Simpson 5- Awful.

Williamson 6- Needs to work on getting his body out of the way, how ****ing many deflected goals have came off him since we bought him? Theres 5 I can think of off the top of my head.

Perch 7- MOM, didnt put a foot wrong and made some cracking interceptions and tackles.

Santon 6- Looked dangerous in first half but seemed to peter out as the game went on, defensively didnt have much to do either.

Ben Arfa 4- Still doesnt seem to want to pass the ball and lost it every time he picked it up.

Cabaye 6- Anonymous again, has so much quality but doesn't seem to get involved enough to use it, same old story.

Guthrie 6- Very anonymous aswell but marginally better than Cabaye.

Gutierrez 5- Very poor, need to stick him back on the wing and abandon this 4-2-3-1 tactic immediately.

Best 6- Actually looked very dangerous at times, but was getting no support from Shola in his attempts.

Shola 3- Apart from that one decent flick back for Best he was abysmal, no desire to win the ball in the air or chase lost causes, every time the ball came into the box he refused to jump and stick his head on it, it really baffles me as to how he stayed on the pitch.

Pardew...Wrong tactics, poor sub choices apart from Ferguson and waited too late again to even make any changes, it was blindingly obvious that we needed to bring on pacey attacking players, we have Lovenkrands and Obertan on the bench so why not give them a blast? He brings on Gosling, who I'm sorry is absolutely ****e, he brings on Ryan Taylor who I dont mind but he is not a game changer by any stretch of the imagination. And Ferguson which I was happy with but hes a DEFENDER, we need more attack minded players when we're chasing a game not a left back.

Needs to go back to 4-4-2 pronto. My next game I'd have Obertan back in the team because Barfa was terrible today, thats how it should work.

You know when people complain about how you act when you don't agree with you!? Well, this is one of them times Tash.

Calm the **** down for **** sake. You're 19. It's actually pathetic how you act sometimes.

 

He was as **** as that towards the end of last season though, making silly mistakes. What I mean by normal service resumed is a good set of games he starts ****ing up like he did last season.

 

Jesus Christ man, I'm not calling you names, I get **** like that at me at times, and I know it's not serious.

I am literally in disbelief at how anyone can think Shola was even adequate today. He was lazy, and made no effort to win things in the air and was mostly useless. He deserve a 2/10 at the most.

You have to be smacked of your tits to think he was any good today. It's like saying Messi is **** ffs.

 

Although I side with Tash on the Shola debate, I'm going to make a point in a less heated manner like him (No offence Tash).

Shola today, was pretty much nowhere for a lot of the game, I can only recall one instance where he won a header that set up Best. Simmo even crossed in a decent ball at one point at a perfect height for him, yet he just let it fly right by without attacking it. His passing was sloppy a lot of the time, the only positive was how he could outmuscle the other players, but when you look at their team it's not like they're full of players like Huth so it's to be expected.

 

I'm sorry, but it just really grates me how you come out with 'snorting crack' and things like that. We have our own opinions. You should respect that, and then explain you're argument against ours. It's very simple and adult Tash.

 

What would you be saying if Shola had missed three scorable chances today, two of which were set up by Best?

 

I thought Shola actually started the game well. The best of an ineffective bunch. But then unsurprisingly he got worse and showed less and less effort which culminated in the almost comical end where he showed absolutely no care to try and help the team he was captaining when two nicely weighted passes headed towards him.

 

Ameobi should not be playing 90 mins, his body can't cope with it, he should either be used in the first half or as a sub, then he can be quite effective.

 

He had a good opening few minutes, I won't deny that, but them aside it was like watching him in recent weeks, uninterested, lazy and no idea what he was doing.
