Disagree. His job as a CF is to score. If your CF poses no threat to score, he's not doing his job. Maybe if those chances he set up come off, then maybe you overlook the fact he posed no goal threat, but they didn't, and he doesn't.

 

Several things:

Perch was our best player imo. Him and Willo had a great shift

Simpson was a pussy for bottling that challenge. He cost us that goal

Brighton were lucky. They literally did nothing for the entire match

Stone wall pen turned down.

Shola won a few headers. He was still as **** as always. I never want to see his rancidness again.

 

Agreed. He was no better - and maybe even worse. They both deserve to take heat for the loss!

 

Willo was pathetic today. I hate seeing Willo play, he can't even pass a freaking ball

I didn't like Probert before the game, I despise the **** now. Poyet and the slap head player can piss off as well

As for Williamson, I defended him after Fulham but now, lets just say he was shown up by Perch.

Pardew came with his daft subs again. Gosling does **** all game after game

He was essentially a winger today. Playing out of position, cant blame him for having a poor game and praise Shola.

 

We were so unlucky, their goal was ****, the ref should be made to explain half the decisions today. The tackle on Cabaye in the first half was awful, Simmo got booked for winning the ball, and he left Brighton time waste their way to a win.

Shola was not terrible but only had one shot on target and Best should have scored both his chances. Can not wait to have Ba and Cisse back, we never looked like scoring. Thought Willo had a bad game, not the own goal that was just pure unluck but having him in the team scares me, he should be sold on in the summer and bring in another defender of better quality as well as hopefully one before the end of the window.

Can't believe no-one is picking out Gutierrez for some criticism. That was his worse game in a Newcastle shirt. Willo was poor, Simpson was woeful(i just don't think he's good enough at all) and in the last couple of games Santon has started to worry me. Defensively he gives wingers too much time and space to get crosses in, but Im sure he will learn. Overall im just gutted basically. What a chance we had for a decent cup run, and no-one seemed f*****g bothered!

I feel the reason why Williamson may have looked bad at times is Simpson was rarely in position to help him. He was as awful as anyone today.

Oh and agree NUFC1991, Guttierez was pretty awful as well. Held the ball too long and lost it to often. I feel when he is out on the wing he always wins a free kick which can be very useful.

Can blame him for missing 3 good chances and going invisible. But all apart from a couple of defenders went invisible that 2nd half.

 

Look above where I agreed with you and said Best was maybe even worse than him today! What's the difference though? I can forgive Best because he has demonstrated an ability to score this season, wherein Shola (besides one fine goal against Spurs) has shown us nothing to suggest he wants to or can score when called upon!

 

Completely agree, but jumping on one players back after all 10 outfield players were dogshit, is taking the piss. Especially when there are a lot of players that were worse today.

 

Good point, add him to the list of disappointments today! He was near anonymous!
