I fail to see why my reaction could've been amusing, but each to their own. Good luck to you in the rest of your season.
To be fair, there's still a few replies even though many will still be having a pint or ten, beating the wife and stuff and I doubt it's many peoples priority to see what Leicester think of a Crawley victory. For some of us it's part of the job description. Some games you just have to take on the chin.
That daft old sod who'd taken three grandkids and reckoned it'd cost him over £100 HAD to be a RL fan on a wind up. They shouldn't give them air time. I nearly missed the Barmby interview because I turn off idiots like that.
Missed that one. What annoyed me was everyone moaning about the 7 changes and then when Matt Dean eventually asked one of them "What if Koren, Rosenior or Stewart played and got injured?" he had absolutely no answer, he just stuttered for ages and then said "Yeah OK you've got me there, but....... I don't think they would have got injured." Twat
Football is all about winning , drawing and losing.. The Fa Cup has been about giant killing for years... So we lost at home to crawley, it matters not.. i dont cry when we lose and i dont spit my dummy out like Leicester City fans do.. League games are the important games this season and i would take a defeat in the cup in return for 3 points from our next league game... Looking foward to doncaster at home and hoping for 3 points.... But win lose or draw i will support Hull City for ever, no matter what.. Nicky Barmbys Black and Amber Army
It could have easily have been us knocked out today thats the excitement of cup games you never know whats gonna happen
I am glad we got through but to be honest if we hadnt of it wouldnt have been such a great loss,i cant see us winning it lol so its more of a hinder. At least you can concentrate on the league now
The gallows humour among some of ours of a certain vintage is second to none. As a City we're stoics by nature. Les Dawson based his dour on stage persona on his experience of Hull working mens clubs. I think it's why we play so much with pompous people that bang on about 'history' and success. We've not really had much in all our history, but here we are each weekend.
As I posted earlier, history is transient - where do you start it from? - some fans even seem to think that football only started with the Premier League - in truth there is only one football team that matters - and that is YOUR team whoever you support - they can make your weekend or wreck it - they can be a cause of the most excruciating embarrassment but also of that warm glow of pleasure that leaves you beaming like an imbecile. I've seen us lose FA cup mtches to Harlow Town and Exeter City, come back from 2-0 down to beat the mighty Leatherhead 3-2 but also be preaent at that amazing quarter final against Shewsbury where we had 3 changes of goalkeeper (2 were outfield players) and somehow come back from 2-1 down to win 5-2. I've always found some comfort in the words of my favourite poem - 'If' by Kipling -for football in particular these lines If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same; Maybe next year eh? - I can remember saying that so many times n the 80s and 90s when we spent so many years not getting past the 3rd round - bu nothing lasts forever - we beat Crystal Palace then first division when were second with a Richard Smith goal and all the waiting seemed worth it in that moment..
