So Rickie Lambert scored again, on his return to the Saints team, after a three match ban. His presence today seemed to emphasise how important he is for the team and not only his goal contribution but also his support and link up play (particularly with Guly) has been invaluable this season. So if Lambert is the focal point of the Saints team, what price would you put on his head?

Priceless, bearing in mind our promotion target. He's worth more to us than anyone would ever offer.

Incidentally, I thought Carroll put in a decent shift today but Liverpool don't play to his strengths.

How much did Torres go to Chelsea for? Was that 50m or something like that? It seems to have had the same millstone effect on him as Carroll's fee has had on him.

There was far too much money sloshing around in that window. The stupid money that Chelsea paid to get Torres, meant that Liverpool had to buy a replacement and they were taken for a ride. Neither players fault.

To another team, about £5M, but to us, priceless.

He is priceless, which is why i think we need to find someone like Rhodes, who will step into lamberts boots ASAP. We need to give them a chance to blend in with the club.

    Alot!
And I'll tell you what, thats just about the longest three match ban I can recall. Horrible.
Still, my dislike for Brighton grows, so not all bad.

That just about sums it up. He's the ready made jewel in the crown, and he fits the position perfectly.

He will never be sold by us. He'll take us to the Premier League (good line for a song, that!) then after a golden twilight to his career he'll retire as our highest ever goalscorer. After that he'll help coach the golden generation to win the Champions League.

When he dies, he will be stuffed and brought out for every Markus Liebherr Memorial match, placed in the penalty area and he'll still score a couple of goals.

There's no point putting a price on his head because he'll be with us for the rest of his career, like he said in the summer.

For arguments sake though - £10m.

Would we sell for £10m? I doubt it. He's far more valuable to us than oxo was and he went for £12m plus add-ons.

I take it you mean his legs or head will twitch instinctively as the ball passes by, allowing him to score..!
I must admit, it does seem as if Rickie's very DNA was programmed for scoring goals.

I don't think it's too much to say that he casts as big an influence over this team as MLT did during the peak of his career.

Priceless to us. Especially if he gets us to the Premier League.

The first no7 since the ultimate no7 to be worthy of the shirt!
