Someone just posted on football rumours that we're signing him until the end of the season, it's probably rubbish(most of the stuff posted on there is), but I thought I'd bung it up in case there's something in it.
Hmm currently training with Arsenal, let go by Boro due to an injury, not played since then. But, seems an out and out striker, isnt that old, could be worth a punt I reckon!
Hmm according to Wiki, he left Boro because he wanted to, although they offered him use of their rehab facilities. Seems eager to return to fitness and would definitely be out to prove a point I suspect. Anyone got any other thoughts on him?
His goal scoring record is poor, but you don't get 29 games for Arsenal without having something about you, he's a free agent and would probably do a job in this league(as a winger or a striker), so I wouldn't be unhappy to see him join us.

If he is training with the Gunners, he will be getting a good tailor-made training regime, suited to his pros and cons of play.
Soooooo not worth the wages we'd have to pay for him, there's a reason Arsenal let him go once he ceased to be a promising youngster, and a reason that no one else out the wants him, he is simply not good enough, not even at Championship level. His scoring record says it all

back on topic... he's never set the world on fire has he? on the plus side he's 6 ft 1 we could do with a big lad.. worth apunt for 10 games why not? NP's method (and rightly so) is trial before contract... last chance for this lad..
He's ****. As with most poor players, the only time I ever saw him play well was against City when we lost 2-3 to Wolves five years ago. But that's no basis to see him as a solution to our goalscoring shortcomings.
I am sorry but has he ever succeeded at any club he has being at? There is a reason a player is a free agent for nine months, we found a miracle signing in Rosenior but we will not do it again, i think any thoughts of bringing him in are a bit short term and bit drastic. Why noit give our own youth players a chance such as Devitt as without game time he will not develop!
To give a fairer analysis of him, she says he's very pacy,but gets knocked off the ball far too easily. And at the end of the day he's a striker that doesn't score goals, and we've had enough of those!
