Was a good game. For the amount of spurs fans they were very quiet which was a bit disappointing.

Sadly, we were robbed of a cup final, but we've been in those before, not a biggie, it was a fun night, and yes, i enjoyed it, our boys played fantastically well, and yours looked very average. You got lucky, well done, enjoy the next round and the rest of your season, i hope you stay in a Champions League spot...believe it or not, most of us have a soft spot for Spurs, though some of your fans may have changed a few of those attitudes tonight, which is a shame.

    Still, have fun :)

Robbed? Who robbed Watford? Was it the ref, your keeper, or your strikers?

And I think you'll find most of the animosity came from a handfull of your fans' bitterness.

Anyway, as I said before well played to your lot and I put no excuses in that. Enjoy the rest of your season <ok>

A variety of things tbh ... i did see a quote about the ref, but don't get me started on the ref...i'll be here all night!

Our keeper made one error, our strikers can't score....but you can't take away from us our performance, we were the better side on the night, and we were very unlucky.

I think, to be fair, the animosity came from both sides, it's just that from yours, it was more ..dare i say...viscious ;)

    Have a good season too...:)

  5. I think we did a tremendous job tonight by avoiding a potential giant-killer. Watford were very organised and extremely motivated, and they came at us like they meant to win, especially in front of their own crowd. This was a potential banana-skin for us, and many EPL sides would have lost tonight.

It never ceases to amaze me how these sides can raise their game so high when they play us. Next week, Watford will go back to scrapping it out in the bottom half of the Championship, and they'll have forgotten how to lift themselves to the heights they reached tonight.

We're in the last 16 in the best cup competition in the world, and I'll take that, what with the distractions posed by Harry's fraud trial.

Sadly, you're probably right, though it'll be nice to think that tonight gave them the confidence to play better in the league :)...

I don't get why Spurs fans are having a go at our attendance. Ok so we didn't fill it....but it's a Friday night and we're generally struggling for attendance all season..this was one of the highest.

Spurs did not fill out their attendance...there were several hundreds of empty seats in the away end. OK it holds about 4k but you're a big team and we're a small one who suffer due to all the bigger teams (such as Spurs) around us. Either way....our support was amazing tonight.....and it's not really an offence to Spurs...but we're usually outsung by away fans who have half the allocation that Spurs had. Could barely hear the Spurs end except for the occasional chants....but like I said we were belting out chants all game and our stadium doesn't carry sound that well....

There's been some unjustified gloating and all kinds of offence here. Maybe some Watford fans stepped over the line too...but generally we have good banter with every team....perhaps it's not coincidental that the only fans who cause grief are those from big teams..or "supposed" big teams who think they will thrash Watford. For me...I have a Spurs family and they're my 2nd team so...I'm fairly disappointed to see such arrogance, ignorance and abuse when it's unnecessary.

We played really well tonight.....and I don't think anyone could argue that we weren't unlucky to come away with something....Spurs had a strong line up out and we had perhaps a bit more indifferent one......so for us to be so dominant and cause Spurs so many problems was really pleasing. Maybe Spurs had an off day.....I've been to Spurs games and seen utter dominance in possession....but you can't just write off Watford as our players were terrific and we can be proud of how we performed.

Firstly hats off for a sterling effort I was so proud of the Hornets last night, I was listening on the radio whilst awaiting the return of my good lady!!!<applause> Now a bit of a rant, will the BBC please get their facts right when they come to Championship ground, apparently this is Mariappa first season at CB<yikes> and oh yeah Nosworthy is on loan from Sunderland <yikes> not much to ask is it?????
Again let down by a goalkeeping error, I have just seen the goal on the BBC News yes it bounced just before it reached him but from that distance SL should have really done better IMO. Some outstanding performances throughout and I was more than happy with the team selection, even the commentators were shocked at how attacking minded SD was going to be<applause> How many chances went a begging, countless surely one day someone is going to get a spanking from us (poor Millwall;)) But again it was how badly Spurs played and not how we hassled them and did not allow them the opportunity to play. Well done Mr Dyche, I can only hope we can carry this vigour forward to our League performances, if we do there will be no stopping us and the sky is the limit!

    U'Orns so frickin proud!!

Wow, some pretty ungracious comments from Spurs fans. Despite everything I have a soft spot for 'Arry and have rooted for Spurs against some of the big sides in the PL this season but after this I'm not so bothered. They were found out last night by a phenomenal Watford display - perhaps that's why their fans were so quiet. I've got to say I can't remember a quieter away contingent, and that with the entire Vicarage Road end almost full bar a few gaps at the front. In contrast our fans were loud and proud last night.

From my position in the lower Rous it was hard to tell if Scott should have saved the goal althought the general opinion seems to be that he should have done but bar that it was a near perfect performance. Yet again our failure to convert did us no favours but this time at least we had chances, shots on target etc.

Doyley suckered all the haters last night and I've got to say I'd stick with him over Dickinson who puts his heart and soul into it but too often loses his man and gets skinned for pace. Mariappa was just plain brilliant, the model of calm efficiency and the numerous PL scouts will no doubt have been very impressed with how he completely cancelled out Defoe and Adebayor. Nos was his usual commanding self (great signing) and Hodson had a great game as well (completely unjustified booking at the end but then there was more than a touch of Premiership bias in the referee, a shocking tackle by Parker went completely unpunished as did a fair few elbows). In the midfield Eustace was imperious - Sean has a real problem when Hogg is fit because these are two players at the top of their form, they just don't work together. Buaben likewise - was tricky, all over the place, creating all sorts of problems. Deeney, although he still struggles to do what a centre forward should do, gave a creditable performance outwide. His control of the ball is a pleasure to watch. Murray was a revelation and so unlucky to score. If he doesn't start ahead of Forsyth for the rest of the season I give up. Garner actually had an okay game although put a sitter of a header wide...he's far better than Iwelumo and unless we sign a striker in the window on the evidence of last night I'd definitely start him ahead of Big Chris (although that's not necessarily saying much). Sordell put himself about but was a little greedy and needs to look up occassionally. Still, a generally good performance from him.

I was immensely proud last night and at least 'Arry was gracious enough to recognise that we were the better team and they really lucked out. Now let's use this as a springboard for the rest of the season. Play like that every game and there's no reason why we can't beat ANY side in the Championship.

As a Dyche doubter and general pessimist about the club these days, only right to say a large well done to players and supporters, and for quite a bold team selection last night.
Now all need to repeat much of that inspiration for the not so exciting days verses the Millwalls, Barnsleys etc cos league points still required !!

Hmmm got to admit, am a little surprised by a few of the coments from Spurs fans. Maybe being towards the top is creating some arrogance we have come to expect from such like as Man Utd fans??

As for the performance - so proud of the team. A fantastic team effort against a team that didn't really look that bothered. A few of thier players were anonymous and just didn't want to be there, whereas ours were really up for the game and we played some really good stuff!

A bit of bad luck and poor finishing from our part cost us the game. Loach should have done better - the ball looked liked it might have dipped more than he expected to just mis-judged the bounce! I think Murray did fantastic and hope thats him in and around the team for the rest of the season. I don't see why we need to change that team for Millwall on Tuesday

As for the fans, on ESPN they sounded fantastic. A few times I heard the Spurs fan but most of the time, it was pretty much all Watford... even after the game!

Hopefully we can keep that motivation for the remainder of the season... but if Spurs can't get themselves up for the 'smaller' teams then they may struggle to challenge for the top 2!

well ,i a Spurs fan and i want to say well done last night,we were lucky to win.it looks like you need a goalscorer as you created chances but could'nt apply the finish.you need to take that performance through to your league games now.

Thanks. Good luck to you too in the league and your remaining cup games. We're definitely hoping to sign a striker who can find the goal.

We'll struggle to get into the top 2 anyway. Ironically it's our consistency against lower teams that has put us up so high in the league, we've only dropped 4 points against the bottom 12 this season.

I think it says a lot that we're not talking about our performance last night though we're not happy at our play and I think everyone's a little bit worried about how wrong 'Arry got it tactically.

Yes, that was odd Kev. Given where Jon Marks has to sit, the crowd noise that comes over on Watford Player is generally from the away end - very often embarrassingly so. Not last night though - very strange.
